    Evidence-based interventions to reduce patient wait times in the emergency department

    They were systematic reviews of 10 scientific articles, with an observational and retrospective design. The databases were reviewed: Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. They were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine the strength and quality of the evidence. Of the 10 articles, 50% (5/10) are retrospective cohort studies, and 50% (5/10) are systematic reviews. Articles were from Iran 20% (2/10), Switzerland 20% (2/10), Canada 10% (1/10), Singapore 10% (1/10), Australia 20% (2/10), Korea 10% (1/10), and Italy 10% (1/10). Of the 10 articles reviewed, 80% (8/10) demonstrated that evidence-based interventions reduce patient waiting time in the emergency department, and 20% (2/10) demonstrated that evidence-based interventions In the evidence they do not reduce the waiting time of patients in the emergency department. From the articles reviewed, it is evident that evidence-based interventions reduce the waiting time of patients in the emergency service, being one of the fundamental pillars in health care, involving the nursing professional with a high degree of response to patient needs and expectations within the framework of total quality.
