Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the "Madres del futuro" program in the level of knowledge of mothers about complementary feeding for children from 6 to 12 months, Lince Health Center(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2012) Vilca Lobatón, Diana; Yantas Poma, Mary Luz; Chávez Flores, Erik MarioThis thesis aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Madres del Futuro program in improving the knowledge level of mothers regarding complementary feeding for children aged 6 to 12 months at the Lince Health Center. It was a pre-experimental study with a pre-post design in a single group. The study population consisted of 240 mothers of children aged 6 to 12 months who receive monthly care at the Growth and Development consultation of the Lince Health Center. A sample of 50 mothers was selected based on pre-established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using a 15-question questionnaire with closed multiple-choice answers, and its validity and reliability were determined through expert judgment (binomial test p < 0.05). Additionally, the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was used (p = 0.73). The results showed that the mothers' knowledge level before the program (pretest) was medium (46%), with a tendency towards low (32%), while after the program (posttest), the mothers reached a high knowledge level (60%), with a tendency towards medium (40%). No mothers were found with a low knowledge level. It was concluded that the implemented educational program was effective (Chi-square: 15.285).Ítem Acceso abierto Importance placed on breastfeeding and breastfeeding technique in children under 2 years old(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Barrientos Ozejo, Lizeth; Mollán Tuesta, Jessica Gisela; Zavaleta Gutiérrez, Violeta AideéThe main objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the importance given to breastfeeding and the breastfeeding technique used by mothers of children under 2 years old attended at the Los Libertadores Health Center in 2014. It was a descriptive, correlational cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 60 mothers. The results showed that 45% of the mothers who assigned low importance to breastfeeding practiced an inadequate breastfeeding technique, while 61% of the mothers who assigned moderate importance applied a moderately adequate technique, and finally, 44% of the mothers who assigned high importance used an adequate technique. It was also observed that 33% of mothers gave low importance to breastfeeding, 52% gave moderate importance, and 15% gave high importance. Regarding breastfeeding techniques, 30% of mothers employed an inadequate breastfeeding technique, 50% a moderately adequate technique, and 20% an adequate technique. The main conclusions were that there is a direct relationship (p-value = 0.050) between the importance assigned to breastfeeding and the breastfeeding technique employed by the mothers. Additionally, the importance that mothers give to breastfeeding is generally from low to moderate, with a minority considering it to be high. In terms of the breastfeeding technique employed, the majority is moderately adequate, followed by inadequate, and a minority is adequate.
