Mortality and morbidity associated with preoperative anxiety are most likely due to major cardiovascular problems associated with health-related behaviors such as smoking, poor diet, poor treatment compliance or an inactive lifestyle and direct influence on myocardial perfusion. However, the body of evidence on the global prevalence and determinants of preoperative anxiety among surgical patients is still under study. A common low level of anxiety is an expected reaction to unpredictable and potentially life-threatening circumstances, especially for a patient's first surgical experience. However, a higher and prolonged level of preoperative anxiety results in delayed wound healing, in addition to requiring higher doses of anesthetics and poor recovery.Ítem Acceso abierto Preoperative anxiety and postoperative pain in patients undergoing surgery in the surgical center of a hospital in Lima Norte - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-07) Alarcón González, Lelis; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoObjective to determine preoperative anxiety and postoperative pain in patients undergoing surgery in the surgical center of a Hospital in Lima Norte - 2021.
