Spearman's Rho statistical test will also be applied to confirm the hypothesis, taking into account only those with a high level of confidence and a minimal margin of error.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and nursing practice on aspiration of bronchial secretion by closed circuit in an adult patient intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital, Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-09) Canchalla Curo, Gloria; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaThe objective of this research project was to determine how the proper practice of nurses and a high level of knowledge regarding bronchial secretion aspiration through a closed circuit in intubated patients can exponentially reduce the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia and other complications that negatively affect critically ill patients. The methodology of the research is based on a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design and an observational technique. This study adopts a descriptive prospective cross-sectional approach. Informed consent was obtained from the participants before their inclusion in the study. The instruments used consisted of a questionnaire designed by Olarte et al. For the second variable, practice of biosafety measures, a checklist was used containing 35 items with a nominal measurement scale and dichotomous response alternatives of yes/no, assessing biosafety before, during, and after the care procedure.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practice of biosafety of the nursing professional of the emergency service of a level – iii hospital in Lima - 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-01-14) Castilla Alvarez, Marcos Antonio; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioBiosafety encompasses a set of actions and procedures aimed at preventing, controlling, and minimizing risks related to exposure to biological, chemical, and physical agents within the workplace. In the challenging context of emergency services, understanding and applying practices related to standard protection norms are fundamental pillars to ensure the health of both professional staff and patients. For this reason, the present study is conducted with the Objective: "To establish the relationship between the level of knowledge of nursing professionals and their practice of biosafety in emergency nurses." Methodology: The study will adopt a hypothetical-deductive approach, utilizing an applied methodology. It will employ a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a correlational level. The population will consist of 80 nurses. To measure the variable "Level of Knowledge," a questionnaire validated by Jauregui in 2021 will be used, with reliability measured by Kuder-Richardson = 0.8371. For the variable "Biosafety Measures," an observation guide validated by Jauregui in 2021 and reliable with Cronbach's Alpha = 0.807 will be employed. Data collection will be conducted through surveys, and data analysis will be carried out using descriptive methods, presenting the results as percentages. Additionally, techniques such as Pearson's correlation or Spearman's Rho coefficient will be applied depending on the data distribution.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practice of percutaneous catheter management by neonatal intensive care nurses in a national hospital, Lima-2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-23) Carrión Alave, Yesica Gregoria; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioA high level of knowledge among nursing professionals translates into appropriate practices in the management of percutaneous catheters in Neonatal Intensive Care, which in turn reduces complications and mortality rates in neonates. Given this importance, the main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice in the management of percutaneous catheters by Neonatal Intensive Care nurses in a national hospital in Lima in 2024. Regarding the methodology, the study will follow the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and associative design. A census sample of 89 nurses will be used. The data collection technique will involve surveys, utilizing two questionnaires. Subsequently, the Spearman correlation coefficient will be employed to establish the relationship between the two variables.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practice on basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the nurse in the emergency service of the Ate Vitarte Hospital, Lima - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-20) Rojas Saavedra, Katherine; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoCardiac pathologies continue to be one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. In 2020, more than seventeen million people died due to these diseases, of which around 8 million were related to coronary diseases, and nearly 7 million to cerebrovascular diseases (CVD), accounting for 30% of the global deaths recorded. In hospital emergency departments at the national level, there is a high demand for patients presenting with cardiac pathologies. Additionally, during pandemic periods, the situation has worsened, as patients suffer from comorbidities, and if cardiac and respiratory pathologies are not properly identified and CPR maneuvers are not implemented, it could lead to irreversible health consequences and loss of life. Objectives: To determine the relationship between knowledge and practice of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) among nurses in the Emergency Service of Ate Vitarte Hospital, Lima – 2022. Methods: The study will be explanatory, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional. The population and sample consist of 80 nurses from the Emergency Service of HEAV, using a non-probabilistic, census-type sampling method.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practices of the nursing professional about biosecurity standards in the surgical center of a hospital in Huaraz, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-21) Garcia Vega, Richard Brayan; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaThe objective of the research will be to determine the relationship between the knowledge and practices of nursing professionals regarding biosecurity standards in the Surgical Center of a hospital in Huaraz, 2024.
