Knowledge about percutaneous catheter care and practice in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Huaraz - 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-13) Panana Tarazona, Evelyn Victoria; Cárdenas de Fernández, María Hilda
The neonatal period is the most vulnerable period for the survival of children, as, according to global statistics, they have the highest risk of dying in the first month after birth. Currently, a large number of children with birth weight problems or serious illnesses require long-term treatment with intravenous access to ensure their survival. In addition, neonatal veins are of small caliber, making percutaneous catheters one of the main instruments for critically ill neonates. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice regarding the care of the percutaneous catheter in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Huaraz - 2021. The inquiry manuscript presented has a quantitative approach. It is also applied, and regarding its design, it is cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational. The sample was determined by convenience due to limited access to sampling, and a non-probability sample of 45 individuals was intentionally selected for examination. For this study, a survey will be used as a technique, with two questionnaires as instruments, having a Cronbach's alpha coefficient greater than 0.7, demonstrating acceptable consistency.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-09) Hernández Gutierrez, Azucena Jackeline; Benavente Sanchez, Yennys Katiusca
This research will be conducted with the objective of "Determining the relationship between knowledge and preventive practices of caregivers in pressure injuries of the elderly in the Home Care Program, Comas 2024." It is a study with a quantitative approach, at a correlational level; the study population consists of 80 caregivers of elderly users. The data collection instruments will be the questionnaire created by Lucero et al. in 2020 to measure the variable knowledge about the prevention of pressure injuries, which includes the dimensions of nutrition, skin assessment, mobilization, and hygiene. Additionally, a questionnaire designed to measure practices related to the prevention of pressure injuries will be used, authored by Ihuaraqui and Irarica in 2020. Both instruments have reliability: the knowledge instrument has an RK-21 coefficient of 0.810, and the practice instrument has an RK-21 alpha of 0.81. Validity was obtained through expert judges, with a value of 0.77 for the knowledge instrument, and for the practice instrument, it reached 92.3% through the Pearson correlation coefficient.

Knowledge that nurses have about the aspiration of secretions and practices in intubated adult patients in the intensive care unit at a National Hospital in Lima, 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-31) López Nicolás, Magdalena; Cárdenas de Fernández, María Hilda
Introduction: Mucus suctioning is a vital procedure in the care of critically ill patients to maintain respiratory airway patency. The nursing management of these patients requires high technical skills in suctioning, as it has been identified as a potentially harmful procedure associated with various complications such as trauma, bronchoconstriction, hypoxemia, cardiac arrest, and death. Objective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge that nurses have about secretion aspiration and the practices in intubated adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a National Hospital in Lima, 2022. Methods: The research method is hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, descriptive type, and correlational design. The population and sample will consist of 30 nurses, with a non-probability convenience sampling method. To process and analyze the research data, the collected data will first be classified, then coded, and once collected, classified and processed according to the variables of the research. The SPSS version 26.0 statistical software will be used to generate frequency statistics tables based on the size and characteristics of the study variables; similarly, Microsoft Excel can be used to create charts and tables.

Nursing competencies and their relationship with the state of humanized care during pre-professional nursing practices in students of a private university in Lima - 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-17) Galindo Andrade, Elizabeth Milagros; Palomino Taquire, Rewards
Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing competencies and the state of humanized care during pre-professional nursing practices among students from a private university in Lima, 2021. Materials and methods: This study is of a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 60 students from the 9th and 10th cycles, to whom the "Perception of Nursing Humanized Care Behaviors (PCHE)" scale (with a reliability of 0.94) and the Nursing Competency Evaluation (ECOenf)" scale (with a reliability of 0.98) were applied during a specific period. Results: It was found that graduates who are nursing technicians exhibited low competencies in humanized care, while non-technical students also had low competencies in care. Students who completed their practices at the Ministry of Health (MINSA) developed low competencies in humanized care. However, a positive correlation was found between humanized care and nursing competencies with a significance of 0.397, with a P value < 0.005. Conclusion: Both nursing competencies and humanized care were low, and the hypothesis posed was accepted.

Nursing knowledge and practice in the cleaning and disinfection process of surgical material, Huacho Regional Hospital 2020
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-11-29) Pichilingue Curioso, Lili Imelda; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
When asepsis, antisepsis, cleaning, and disinfection were introduced, morbidity and mortality rates decreased considerably from 80% to 10%, but population demand and the current state of health of the population, lifestyles, and the failure of Health systems with respect to the resource of surgical materials increase the morbidity and mortality rate by a large percentage. Also, it is necessary to evaluate if the clinical practice guidelines respond to the needs of the population, or if it is the health personnel who fails in the cleaning and disinfection procedure of the material to be used in surgery. Researchers from all over the world have been interested in the cleaning and disinfection procedure, so they mention that cleaning surgical material is equally effective in reducing germs with an alcoholic solution or with an aqueous solution, referring to the enzymatic detergent. It is necessary to mention that the reuse of surgical instruments carries with it the risk of cross infection, in addition to the fact that the cleaning and disinfection procedure is very cumbersome, takes a lot of time, expensive and prone to error.

The care of patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis is not only based on clinical practices or medical procedures, but must also interact with the human part of the person who suffers. Therefore, in order to propose comprehensive and humanized care, we must know this phenomenon in depth. and specifically in our field, so that from there as nurses we can rethink about our role. Objective: determine the level of self-esteem in patients with chronic kidney disease in a private hemodialysis clinic in San Luis - Lima, 2021. Method: the study of an applied, descriptive and cross-sectional research and census sample of 60 patients with chronic kidney disease who receive hemodialysis in San Luis - Lima. The samples will be taken through the survey technique of hemodialysis patients between the months of July and August 2021 using an instrument "the bull self-esteem scale" that has a validity of Aiken's V of 0.98 and a reliability of Cronbach's alpha of 0.91, the results will be processed and analyzed with descriptive statistics to represent tables and figures.
