Critical review: predictive value of the nutritional prognostic index in patients with gastric cancer.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-22) Miranda Bailón, Desirée Ines; Inocente Camones, Miguel Angel
The present secondary research titled as critical review: predictive value of the nutritional prognostic index in patients with gastric cancer aimed to determine the predictive value of the nutritional prognostic index in the survival of patients with gastric cancer. The clinical question was: Will the predictive value of the nutritional prognostic index improve the survival of adult and elderly patients with gastric cancer? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in Science Direct, PubMed, HINARI, Lilacs, Scielo, Dialnet, Redal, finding 60 articles, 11 being selected that have been evaluated by the CASPe critical reading tool, finally selecting the systematic review titled Prognostic Nutritional Index Predicts Outcomes of Patients after Gastrectomy for Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Nonrandomized Studies which has an AI level of evidence and a strong recommendation grade, according to to the expertise of the researcher. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that the nutritional prognosis index improves the overall survival of patients with gastric cancer; however, taking into account the biases exposed, attention must be paid to the data analyzed.

Evaluation of human blood agar culture medium with washed red blood cells for the development of Streptococcus agalacti strains.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-01) Cano Corales, Katia Alejandra; Ugarte Córdova, Ana Margarita; Borja Velezmoro, Gustavo Adolfo
The study evaluated the performance of an alternative culture medium, human blood agar with 5% washed red blood cells, for the development of Streptococcus agalactiae strains compared to 5% sheep blood agar. The sample consisted of 36 properly identified Streptococcus agalactiae strains. Results obtained from the ASHGL 5% medium showed 100% sensitivity and specificity after 24 hours of incubation. Positive and negative predictive values also reached 100%. The morphology of the colonies and the presence of beta-hemolysis on both sheep blood agar and ASHGL 5% agar were evident after 24 hours of incubation. Conclusion: The human blood agar with 5% washed red blood cells (ASHGL) is as effective as 5% sheep blood agar.

Performance of the Immunochromatography Test for Syphilis Used in Pregnant Women at a Maternal Care Center in Lima; August and September 2017
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-04-03) Dávila Huamán, Einstein Dante; Fernandez Roca, Carlos Elpidio; Calderón Cumpa, Luis Yuri
This work contributes to the knowledge of clinical laboratory diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections. Its study is of great importance due to the conditions in which these infections are prevalent, such as promiscuity and prostitution, especially in urban areas. The Rapid Syphilis Test (RST) is a test for diagnosing the Treponema pallidum bacterium in blood, which is currently being used in clinical laboratories in our country and worldwide, so it was deemed appropriate to determine its performance. A population of 909 pregnant women, vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections and who regularly attend the maternal care center in Lima, was selected. A quantitative, retrospective, cross-sectional, and observational study was conducted. Subsequently, blood samples were tested using the RST and FTA-ABS "EUROIMMUN" tests. The performance of the RST was then determined using formulas to calculate its sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, and concordance using the Kappa index, with the FTA-ABS "EUROIMMUN" test as the reference test. The results indicate that the RST is sensitive and specific, with 100% concordance with the reference test, as well as its positive and negative predictive values, and the concordance by Kappa index was 1

Results of cardiotocography in relation to funicular dystocia, condition of the newborn and type of delivery at the “Las Mercedes” regional teaching hospital in Chiclayo in the year 2016-2017
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-03-23) Moreno Llanos, María Evelyn; Vidaurre Cortez, Giovanna; Huaman Elera, Jose Manuel
Material and methods: A quantitative, non-experimental, prospective, longitudinal, analytical study was carried out. The sample was obtained by non-probabilistic or convenience sampling. Information was collected from the review of medical records. The statistical test used was the chi square. Results: The sociodemographic maternal characteristics with the highest percentage were adulthood, level of secondary education, nulliparous, and full-term gestation. The presence of funicular dystocia recorded a normal baseline, silent variability (7.2%), absence of accelerations (46.4%), variable decelerations (43.5%), present fetal movements; The result of the non-reactive stress test was 62.8% and the positive non-reactive stress test was 30.8%. The most frequent was clear amniotic fluid, simple circular cord, rejectable and located in the neck of the newborn. The highest percentage of births was by cesarean section. Newborns with Apgar scores of 7 to 10 at one minute and funicular dystocia had a non-reactive stress test or a reactive negative stress test. Cardiotocography showed low sensitivity, high specificity, a positive predictive value of 75%, a negative predictive value of 52.4% and a statistically significant relationship between cardiotocographic results and funicular dystocia. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship (p<0.05) between cardiotocographic results and the presence of funicular dystocia. The non-stressful test had a statistically significant relationship with the type of delivery.

Valor predictivo del índice de conicidad para riesgo de Diabetes Mellitus en personal sanitario de un centro de salud en Lima norte, 2024
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-01-28) Bravo Verastegui, Estrella Carolina; Sandoval Guevara, Yazcitk Miguel
