Ítem Acceso abierto Dental erosión and its impact on the quality of life related to oral health in pre-schools of the district of san juan de Lurigancho, lima 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-08-27) Tuya Collazos, Maribel Yanina; Céspedes Porras, JacquelineObjective: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of dental erosion on oral health-related quality of life in preschoolers from the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima 2019. This was an observational, cross-sectional, analytical study. The sample size consisted of 150 preschoolers aged 3, 4, and 5 years from the I.E.I "Niño Jesús Mariscal Chaperito," with the consent of their respective parents. The instruments used were the "Basic Erosive Wear Examination (BEWE)" for dental erosion, and the Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS), for quality of life. Results: The averages in both the group without erosion and with erosion were very similar. When performing the statistical test for quality of life and its dimensions, a p-value > 0.05 was obtained, indicating that there is no statistically significant difference between the impact of erosion and oral health-related quality of life (Student's t-test for independent samples; p> 0.05). Conclusion: It is concluded that the prevalence of dental erosion in preschoolers was high, and that dental erosion did not show an impact on the quality of life related to oral health.
