Materials and Methods: An experimental, prospective, longitudinal study with a quasi-experimental design was conducted. A total of 40 pregnant women attending the obstetric psychoprophylaxis service at the Juan Pablo II Maternal and Child Center participated, divided into two groups: an experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=20). Prior to the educational intervention, a pre-test was applied to each group to measure their knowledge level about iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy. After the educational intervention in the experimental group, a post-test was applied to both groups. Results: The results showed a statistically significant influence of the preventive program on iron deficiency anemia regarding the knowledge level of the pregnant women attended at the Juan Pablo II Maternal and Child Center, as evidenced by the p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: The implementation of a preventive program on iron deficiency anemia significantly influences the knowledge level of the pregnant women attended at the Juan Pablo II Maternal and Child Center, 2019.
