    Effectiveness of the type of packaging used in maintaining the sterility of medical devices in sterilization centers

    Objective: Systematize the available evidence on the effectiveness of the type of packaging used in maintaining the sterility of medical devices in sterilization centers. Materials and methods: Type of quantitative study, study design: systematic review, population 10 articles and sample: Systematic review of 10 articles, various scientific articles were found, the Cochrane, Lilacs, Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Intramed database was used . A critical and intensive evaluation of each article was carried out, the quality of the evidence and the strength of recommendation for each article was established through the GRADE method (22). Results: Of all the 10 articles reviewed, 40% (n= 4/10) demonstrate the effectiveness of using the type of non-woven fabric packaging in maintaining the sterility of medical devices in sterilization centers and 60 % (n=6/10) of the articles express that there is not enough scientific evidence to define the predominance of some type of packaging in maintaining sterilization. Conclusion: The largest proportion of studies show that none of the types of packaging is more effective than the other, for maintaining the sterility of medical devices in sterilization centers.
