Materials and Methods: Systematic review, observational, and retrospective. The search was limited to full-text articles, which were critically reviewed using the Grade assessment tool to identify the level of evidence. Results: A total of 10 articles were selected, with 30% (3) from the United States, 30% from Brazil, 20% (2) from Turkey, Thailand (1), and Germany (1), each accounting for 10%. All studies were non-randomized clinical trials, mainly from the US and Brazil, which represented 60% of the studies. All 100% of the reviewed studies concluded that nail polish did not significantly alter oxygen saturation values. Conclusions: According to the reviewed studies, there is no relationship between the use of nail polish and oxygen saturation values in pulse oximetry.
