Chest perimeter in the post respiratory physiotherapy program in post Covid-19 patients in a health center in Lima, 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-28) Alvarez Niño de Guzmán, Yanet; Cautín Martinez, Noemi Esther
This research is conducted to contribute to existing knowledge about the use of rehabilitation programs for patients with post-COVID-19 sequelae as part of a treatment protocol in hospitals nationwide. The results will help systematize a proposal to be incorporated into health sciences, particularly in respiratory physiotherapy. It is essential to highlight that the use of various techniques and procedures of respiratory physiotherapy in the context of COVID-19 has demonstrated that these programs improve recovery and performance in individuals with post-COVID-19 sequelae. This study aims to improve the recovery and care of patients with coronavirus sequelae through structured respiratory physiotherapy programs that include chest expansion exercises, rib cage expansion exercises, and directed ventilation exercises, all validated within physiotherapeutic care programs to improve patients' quality of life and reintegrate them into society as quickly as possible.

Effect of a Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Program on Peak Expiratory Flow in Older Adults in a Posta de Surquillo -2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-15) Centurión Pérez, Leidy Ysabel; Chero Pisfil, Santos Lucio
Chronic respiratory diseases, according to the Ministry of Health, are the third leading cause of death among older adults in Lima, mainly affecting the function of the muscles of inspiration and expiration, thereby altering the respiratory mechanics in older adults. In some cases, these conditions may lead to death. They result in a series of complications affecting daily activities, which highlights the importance of performing timely cardiorespiratory exercises, as they could improve respiratory dynamics and quality of life in older adults.

In Peru, the incidence is significant, and treatment can cause adverse effects that impact the quality of life and functionality of patients. The main objective was to determine the effectiveness of a manual therapy program on functional capacity and quality of life in post-mastectomy oncological patients after oncological treatment. The study is applied, quantitative, and quasi-experimental with pre and post-test design. The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) will be used to determine pain levels, the DASH questionnaire to assess functional capacity in the upper limb, and the EORTC scale to identify quality of life levels. A survey will be used as an evaluation technique, and the instruments have been validated by expert judgment. The research will be carried out at the oncology rehabilitation unit in a hospital in Lima. The population will consist of 108 patients who will undergo the manual therapy program.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-10-23) Lores Marcos, Diana Carolina; Tello Montoya, Jesús Augusto; Ventura Alarcón, Yadira Sulema
It is a pre-experimental study of a quantitative, prospective, analytical, longitudinal design, with an application level and a duration of three months. An evaluation was conducted with 60 older adults, using the modified Tinetti scale before and after the exercise program. Each session was group-based, held twice a week, with a duration of 45 minutes for 3 months. The patient population consisted of 20 men and 40 women. According to age, the participants were divided into three age groups: 25 patients aged 60 to 70, 19 patients aged 71 to 80, and 16 patients aged 81 to 90. According to gender, after the exercise program, 95% of the men showed minimal fall risk, and the women showed the same percentage. According to age, after the program, those aged 60 to 70 had a high fall risk, and 96% had minimal fall risk. Among those aged 71 to 80, 10.5% of patients had a high fall risk, and 89.5% had a minimal fall risk. Among those aged 81 to 90, 0.00% of patients had a high fall risk, and 100% had minimal fall risk. It is concluded that the physical exercise program was effective in improving the static and dynamic balance of older adults at the Senior Center in Canto Grande – San Juan de Lurigancho.

Neurorehabilitation program for lumbalgia in patients with hernia of the nucleus pulposus. Physical medicine and rehabilitation service, essalud cajamarca 2023
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-07) Jara Puma, Raúl; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose Antonio
Nucleus pulposus herniation (NPH) is one of the most frequent complications, starting with pain in the lumbar region, followed by the rupture of the annulus fibrosus of the intervertebral disc, leading to protrusion into the spinal canal, and in more advanced stages, invasion of the spinal canal with the presence of neuropathic pain. The muscles of the core region of the body, such as the multifidi, abdominal muscles, diaphragm, and pelvic floor muscles, are responsible for maintaining the proper function of the lumbar spine, which is why it is important to maintain adequate strength in all these muscle groups for proper biomechanics. Due to the high prevalence of patients using the physical medicine and rehabilitation services at EsSalud Cajamarca, this project was proposed to establish the effect of a neurorehabilitation program on low back pain in patients with nucleus pulposus herniation. The program was formulated using CORE strengthening exercises, lumbar spine flexibility exercises, and functional activities aimed at improving the function of this region in patients suffering from low back pain caused by nucleus pulposus herniation.
