Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto sedante y ansiolítico del extracto etanólico de la corteza de Brunfelsia grandiflora D. Don “chiric sanango” en ratones albinos(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-18) Barrera Perez, Elsa; Romero Ccasani, Danny Daniel; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraObjective: The present research aims to verify the sedative and anxiolytic effects of the ethanolic extract of the bark of Brunfelsia grandiflora D. Don ("chiric sanango") in albino mice. Methods: Solubility testing and preliminary qualitative analysis were conducted to identify secondary metabolites. To demonstrate the sedative effect, the hole-board test method was used on 40 albino mice at different doses (60, 80, and 100 mg/kg) orally (VO) compared to diazepam at 10 mg/kg, with a 5-minute evaluation period. The anxiolytic effect was assessed using the marble-burying method on 40 albino mice at doses of 5, 10, and 15 mg/kg orally (VO), also compared to diazepam at 10 mg/kg, with a 30-minute evaluation period. Results: The ethanolic extract of the bark of Brunfelsia grandiflora D. Don ("chiric sanango") at a concentration of 100 mg/kg exhibited a sedative effect comparable to the standard diazepam at 10 mg/kg, with an inhibitory effect of 70.6%. Additionally, the ethanolic extract at a concentration of 15 mg/kg demonstrated a greater anxiolytic effect than the standard diazepam at 10 mg/kg, with an inhibitory effect of 80.1%. Conclusion: The sedative and anxiolytic effects of the ethanolic extract of the bark of Brunfelsia grandiflora D. Don ("chiric sanango") were demonstrated in albino mice.
