    Introduction: Our body has been exposed to obstacles where medical diagnostic methods are born through biomedical equipment that, by using ionizing radiation, explores our body internally for the preventive diagnosis of diseases, after surgical interventions in the operating room, and the greater its exposure is. risky for long-term health. Objective: Determine the level of knowledge and practices of nurses regarding protection standards against exposure to ionizing radiation. Material and methods: This study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional in design. The population is made up of 20 nursing graduates who work in the surgical center service, the instrument used was the questionnaire with a total of 26 questions regarding knowledge and practices regarding radiation protection standards.
