Ítem Acceso abierto Evidence-based nursing care to reduce complications in patients after radical prostatectomy(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Chuquihuanga Manrique, Gina Liliana; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethObjective: Systematize the evidence of nursing care to reduce the most frequent complications in postoperative radical prostatectomy patients. Material and method: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles found on nursing care based on evidence to reduce complications in postoperative radical prostatectomy patients, were discovered in the following databases Lilacs, Scielo, Pubmed, all of them were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine its strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 80% (8/10) belong to the methodological design of methodological review and 20% (2/10) are descriptive, transversal. Of the 10 articles systematically investigated, 100% (10/10) show that the nurse plays an important role in reducing the complications of a patient after radical prostatectomy surgery. Conclusions: The study concluded that the nurse plays a very important role in all the pre, intra and post-operative stages, because it is the health personnel who remains in contact with the patient from the beginning of the disease when they are diagnosed for the first time with prostate cancer, the fear of the unknown on the part of the patient and family is immense, full of doubts, being the nurse, the health personnel efficient in responding, helping with a scientific basis using the protocols, nursing process favoring recovery, achieving patient independence, thus managing to reduce the complications of a post-radical prostatectomy patient.
