Material and Method: A systematic review was carried out of 10 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the administration of honey to reduce the severity of oral mucositis in patients undergoing radiochemotherapy, which were found in the Lilacs, Scielo, and Medline databases. , Pubmed; and subjected to analysis according to the Grade scale, thus achieving the determination of the strength and quality of the evidence. Results: 10 systematically reviewed articles were analyzed, 10% (n= 1/10) are systematic reviews, 80% (n= 8/10) are randomized controlled trials and 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analysis. Conclusions: The administration of honey during the process of the radiochemotherapy session is effective in reducing the severity of oral mucositis according to degrees, it also reduces the days of hospitalization, improves weight loss and is favorably accepted by patients. and broader and more accessible.
