Ítem Acceso abierto Effetiveness of Myofacial reléase in Pain intensity, Functional Capacity and joint rango in patients with painful Shoulder síndrome in a hospital in chimbote 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-26) Morales Graus, Fabiola Roxana; Ventura Alarcón, Yadira SulemaThe third most common reason for musculoskeletal pain consultation, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is the painful shoulder syndrome, with an estimated prevalence of 16-26% and an incidence of 1.47%. The shoulder joint is mobile, and muscle tension increases symptoms, affecting the patient’s functionality and leading to the adoption of incorrect postures that can result in disability. This condition involves inflammation, pain, and limited movement, affecting daily activities. Physiotherapeutic treatment focuses on reducing pain, restoring mobility, improving functionality, reducing myofascial trigger points, and restoring function and quality of life. It is concluded that manual therapy is considered an important tool in physiotherapeutic treatment. Myofascial release aims to mobilize the connective tissue fascia that surrounds, connects, and supports muscles to improve functional capacity due to myofascial restrictions. The general objective of this study is to identify the level of effectiveness of myofascial release in pain intensity, functional capacity, and joint range in patients with painful shoulder syndrome. Methodology: This is a quasi-experimental study evaluated through a pretest and posttest. This research design will verify the effect of the independent variable on the changes observed in the dependent variable. The instruments used include the Disability Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaire, commonly used in clinical trials and validated for reliability, the visual analog scale, which is practical and safe, and the goniometer, which is used in studies for its accuracy.
