Publicación Acceso abierto Parasitosis intestinal relacionado con los factores socioeconómicos y ambientales en niños de 1 a 12 años de los albergues provisionales de la Asociación de Carapongo en Lurigancho – Chosica, durante los desastres naturales ocurridos en marzo, 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-05-30) Tovar Ticse, Rosmery Dionicia; Ynfantes Almeyda, María Isabel; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of this research was to determine the relationship between intestinal parasitosis and socioeconomic and environmental factors in a population of 156 children of both genders, aged 1 to 12, from the provisional shelters of the Carapongo Association in Lurigancho-Chosica, during the natural disasters that occurred in March 2017. The study was descriptive, correlational, observational, cross-sectional, and prospective. Samples were taken in March 2017. The methods used were the Direct Method, the Parodi Method, and the Graham Test. Data on habitat conditions, as well as socioeconomic and environmental factors, were recorded via home visits and an epidemiological form. Results: The following prevalences were obtained: Enterobius vermicularis 75% (117), Blastocystis hominis 42% (66), Entamoeba coli 38% (60), Giardia lamblia 37% (57), Ascaris lumbricoides 17% (27), and Hymenolepis nana 2% (3). Conclusion: A significant relationship was found to exist between intestinal parasitosis and socioeconomic and environmental factors. However, no difference was found between genders in relation to these factors.
