Communication skills and emotional support from nursing to family members of critically ill patients hospitalized in the ICU

Admission to the Intensive Care Unit represents an important event with physical and emotional impact for family members. They tend to present feelings related to lack of control in themselves, which are associated with information and security in the evolution of their condition. patient. That is why the communication skills and emotional support provided by the nursing professional during patient care indirectly help in their recovery, such as in the relationship with the family. Objective: To relate the communication skills and emotional support of nursing towards the family member of the critically ill patient hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a Hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2022. Material and Method: The approach will be quantitative, non-experimental design, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional. The population will consist of 55 relatives of patients hospitalized in the ICU of a Hospital in Metropolitan Lima. To measure communication skills, a Likert scale survey developed by Franco R will be applied, with adequate validity, 85% and a reliability of 0.805 measured by Crombach's Alpha. For the evaluation of emotional support, a Likert scale survey developed by Álvarez R will be applied, with adequate validity according to the Aiken V test of 100% and a reliability of 0.805 measured by Crombach's Alpha. The instruments will be administered virtually, after the administration of informed consent. A descriptive and correlational statistical analysis will be carried out.

The nursing team working in the Emergency Department is constantly exposed to all types of diseases and infections due to continuous contact with various contaminating agents during their work activities. This study, titled "Competencies of Nursing Staff in the Implementation of Infection Control Measures in the Emergency Department of the National Hospital Dos de Mayo 2020," aims to determine the competencies of both professional and technical nursing staff working in the emergency department in implementing protective measures for healthcare workers. The materials and methods designated for this study, which has a quantitative and descriptive cross-sectional approach with a single variable, involve a sample of 100 nursing staff members, including professionals and technicians, from the emergency department of the hospital. Data collection will be done using a survey consisting of 15 questions divided into three dimensions: knowledge, attitude, and practices regarding biosafety measures aimed at improving work practices. The goal is to understand the cognitive, attitudinal, and procedural levels of the staff to minimize contagion and occupational risks in the emergency department.

Cultura de seguridad del paciente y el registro de eventos adversos en enfermeras profesionales de un hospital de Lima, 2024

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la cultura de seguridad del paciente con el registro de eventos adversos en enfermeras profesionales de un Hospital de Lima, 2024. Materiales y métodos: Fue una investigación hipotético deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de corte transversal de tipo correlacional. Las variables, cultura de seguridad del paciente y el registro de eventos adversos fueron analizadas en una población de 180 enfermeras profesionales y una muestra aleatorizada de 123 enfermeras que respondieron dos instrumentos El “Medical Office Survery on Patient Safety Culture Versión española 2.0” elaborado por Damas, para medir el nivel cultura organizacional, y el cuestionario registro para medir niveles de eventos adversos, con una confiabilidad de alfa de Cronbach de 0.885 para cultura organizacional y para la variable registro de EA un alfa de Cronbach de 0.937. Resultados: El 60,2% de las enfermeras refieren que el nivel de percepción de la cultura de seguridad es moderado, en tanto el 65.9% de las enfermeras mantienen una percepción indiferente de los registros de eventos adversos. Conclusión: Se encontró un nivel de significancia 0.000 < 0.05 y la rho Spearman = 0.433, lo que significa que existe correlación positiva moderada entre la cultura de seguridad del paciente con el registro de eventos adversos en enfermeras profesionales de un Hospital de Lima, 2024.

Emotional intelligence and work performance of the nursing professional of the hospital of Chancay and sbs, Huaral, 2022

The objective of this study is: “To determine the relationship that exists between emotional intelligence and the job performance of the nursing professional.” Population: There will be 131 nurses (91 appointed, 6 contracted and 34 CAS COVID) who work at the Chancay and SBS hospital, Huaral. Sample: It will be made up of 98 nursing care personnel, probabilistic sampling for convenience will be applied. Methodological design: The type of research will be applied. The method will be deductive, observational, descriptive and transversal. The design that will be used will be correlational. Instruments: To evaluate the variable: “Emotional Intelligence”, the questionnaire modified by Moreano in 2018, reliable through Cronbach's Alpha with 0.801, will be applied and to evaluate the variable: “Work Performance”, the questionnaire modified by Laureano and Campos will be applied. in 2021, reliable through Cronbach's Alpha with 0.953. The data collection technique will be the survey. Data processing and analysis: It will be carried out through the application of the statistical description that will present the results according to levels and the inferential statistics through the application of the Spearman's Rho test to verify the hypothesis raised in the study.

Introducción: El estilo de vida de un profesional de enfermería en Perú, como en cualquier otro país, está fuertemente influenciado por las demandas de su profesión. Las largas jornadas laborales, los turnos rotativos y la alta carga emocional pueden impactar significativamente sus hábitos diarios y su bienestar general. Asimismo; el estrés laboral es un problema común entre los profesionales de la salud, y las enfermeras no son la excepción. En Perú, como en muchos otros países, esta profesión se enfrenta a una serie de desafíos que pueden contribuir al desarrollo de altos niveles de estrés. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre los estilos de vida y el estrés laboral en los profesionales de enfermería del Servicio de Centro Quirúrgico de un Instituto Nacional de Lima, 2025. Métodos: estudio de investigación tipo aplicada, enfoque cuantitativo, correlacional y transversal. Se trabajará con una muestra de 48 profesionales de enfermería. Se empleará como instrumento el TEST FANTASTICO y CUESTIONARIO DE MASLACH están validados y son confiables para medir las variables en cuestión. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS 25.

Work accidents are a problem faced by health personnel, for this reason it has been convenient to carry out the research work entitled "Associated factors and biosafety measures in nursing professionals working in the emergency area" with the following objectives: To determine the relationship between the associated factors and biosafety measures of nursing professionals working in the emergency area of a public hospital in Amazonas 2023. The study was a nonexperimental, descriptive, cross-sectional design, with a population of 30 nursing professionals working in the emergency area of a public hospital in Amazonas. The instrument to evaluate the factors associated with Biosafety was initially developed by Carolina Camacuari Cardenas, Feliman Salome, in her thesis entitled "Factors related to the application of Biosafety measures in the Surgical Center nurse in a Peruvian hospital. A questionnaire consisting of two dimensions and 26 items was used to collect the data, as well as the guide for the application of biosafety measures prepared by MINSA. Biosafety Manual, which consists of 1 dimension and 30 items. The data collection technique will be the survey. Data processing and analysis: It will be carried out through the application of the statistical description that will present the results according to levels and inferential statistics through the application of the Chi-square test to test the hypothesis raised in the study.

Pressure ulcer (PU) is a lesion of ischemic origin, located in the skin and underlying tissues with loss of skin substance caused by prolonged pressure or friction between two hard planes. The PU represents a health problem that affects older adults. Due to its etiology, it can be prevented through specific care. The objective is "To determine the relationship between the knowledge and practice of the nursing professional in the prevention of pressure ulcers in elderly patients in the geriatric service of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Lima National Hospital - 2022". The type of study is Descriptive, non-experimental observational and correlational descriptive. The sample is made up of 25 nursing professionals from the geriatric hospitalization service. A survey was applied through a questionnaire for both variables. Validated and reliable instruments were used. The data will be registered, classified, tabulated and codified as appropriate through the use of Excel 2013 computer systems and analyzed through SPSS 25, where tables, charts, graphs will be obtained. Likewise, the relationship between the variables and the hypothesis test will be carried out with the Spearman's Rho test, being a non-parametric analysis, which will serve to verify the hypotheses raised, and will later be analyzed and interpreted.

It is descriptive quantitative, because it records the information as it is presented, aimed at searching for data. Finally, it is non-experimental, it is carried out without the premeditated use of variables and in which the phenomena are observed in their natural environment to later analyze it.

Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and practices in the prevention of surgical site infection among nursing professionals in the Surgery Service at a National Hospital in Lima, 2022. Population: The population will consist of 50 nurses. Sample: The sample will be the same as the population due to its small size (<100); therefore, the sample will include all 50 nurses. Methodological design: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, applied type, descriptive cross-sectional, and correlational. Instruments: To evaluate the variable "Nursing professionals' knowledge in preventing surgical site infections," a modified questionnaire by López in 2016 will be applied, with a reliability of KR-20 = 0.83. To assess the variable "Nursing professionals' practices in preventing surgical site infections," an observation guide modified by García in 2017 will be used, with a reliability of KR-20 = 0.85. Data processing and analysis: Descriptive statistics will be applied to present the results by levels, and the Spearman's Rho test will be used to test the study hypothesis.

Knowledge and practices on biosafety measures of the nursing professional in the surgical center area, 2022

The objective of the research is to 'Determine the relationship between knowledge and practices regarding biosafety measures among nursing professionals.' The population consists of 200 nursing professionals working at Hospital Alberto Sabogal – Callao, from which a sample of 100 nurses from the surgical center was selected. Probability sampling will be used for convenience. The methodological design is applied, using a hypothetical-deductive, observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional method. The design to be used will be correlational. To assess the variable 'knowledge of biosafety measures,' the questionnaire modified by Acevedo in 2020, with a reliability of 0.88 according to Cronbach’s Alpha, will be applied. For the variable 'practices regarding biosafety,' a checklist modified by Vivanco in 2019 will be used to measure biosafety practices, achieving a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.804. Data collection will be done through a survey. Data analysis will be carried out using descriptive statistics to present the results, and the hypothesis will be tested using Spearman's Rho test.

The objective of this work is to "Determine the relationship between the knowledge of biosafety measures and the practice of the nursing professional at the Central Sterilization Center of a public hospital in Lima 2023". Methodology: it will be an applied investigation of hypothetical - deductive method, quantitative approach of non-experimental design, without intervention, Cut: Prospective cross-sectional, Correlational Descriptive. The population will be made up of 80 nursing professionals; Data collection will be carried out through two instruments: a questionnaire to measure knowledge of biosafety measures considering the dimensions: protective barriers, equipment and material processing, removal of contaminated material and occupational exposure; an observation guide applied through observation to measure the practical variable of the nursing professional, whose dimensions to observe will be hand washing, use of barriers, and handling of contaminated waste. The results will be analyzed using SPPSS statistical software and the non-parametric test was used to verify the hypothesis. the test statistics will be Spearman's Rho test because we are going to evaluate two variables.

The acknowledgment of pain in newborns hospitalized in intensive care units makes it essential to implement strategies for assessment, intervention, and prevention. The nursing professional plays a key role in evaluating and responding to pain, as appropriate and timely intervention improves the neonate's quality of life. This study arises from the need to understand the relationship between pain, knowledge level, and the attitude of nurses towards pain management in premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit at the National Maternal Perinatal Institute – 2022. The research will have a quantitative approach, be applied in nature, and use a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The study will involve a census population of 80 nursing professionals. The data collection technique will be a survey, and a questionnaire will be used to assess the pain knowledge and attitudes of the nursing professionals, instruments validated in previous studies. Descriptive statistical analysis methods will be used to present the results, with relative frequency tables to provide the categories for each variable. To validate the hypothesis, the Chi-square test, an independence test, will be employed.

Our work was to determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge and the safe practice of the nursing professional in the prevention of pressure injuries in older adults from the medical service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima, 2022. Material and Method: This is a quantitative study with a non-experimental design with a cross section and correlational scope where the instruments to support the study variables will be applied. The population and sample consisted of 53 nursing professionals who work in the medical service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Two questionnaires will be used as an instrument that will measure the study variables, the first will measure the level of knowledge of the nursing professional in pressure injury prevention through 26 questions with ordinal multiple response options, measuring four dimensions: hygiene, integrity of the skin, hydration and nutrition and mental state. while the second is the safe practice of the nursing professional in the prevention of pressure injuries through 14 questions with ordinal response options, measuring two dimensions: body hygiene and mobilization

Level of self-care and quality of life in patients receiving hemodialysis in a Cañete clinic 2022

This research project focuses on the study whose objective is "Determine the relationship between self-care and quality of life in patients with hemodialysis in a Hemodialysis clinic in Cañete in 2022." The population: will be 80 patients as a sample that undergoes their hemodialysis replacement therapy at the plus vida clinic in Cañete, the research sampling will be probalist for convenience, Observational design, the type of experimental research, the method will be deductive, descriptive , correlational and transversal. The design that will be used will be correlational instruments: to evaluate the “self-care” variable, the questionnaire modified by Peña Lurita 2016 will be applied. Its reliability was determined in a pilot test through the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.81, and to evaluate “Quality of Life” questionnaire was applied that was modified by The reliability of the instrument was demonstrated in a pilot test, considering the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.86 reflecting high reliability. The data collection technique Regarding data analysis, the SPSS version 26 program will be considered for data processing, as well as Microsoft Excel to export tables or graphs that can be modified in their form. On the other hand, the relationship between the study variables will be determined through the chi-square test (X2) since they are qualitative variables, which will allow the results to be analyzed and hypotheses to be contrasted.

The objective of this study is to “Determine the relationship that exists between human talent management and job satisfaction of nursing professionals.” The study has a total population of 131 nursing professionals who work in the different services of the Nursing Department of the Chancay Hospital, with a sample consisting of 98 nursing professionals, of applied type using the observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational. The survey technique will be used and the questionnaire instrument to be used is “Human Talent Management Questionnaire” and “Job Satisfaction Questionnaire”, the data processing will be carried out through an administrative procedure, in the Professional Academic School of Nursing, it will also be will submit a request to the Executive Director of the Hospital, to obtain authorization and coordinate with the head of the Nursing Department, presenting the plan of activities to be executed, taking place in the month of July 2022, in The data analysis will use descriptive statistics in order to interpret, express and accumulate the scores achieved by each variable, the distribution will be by frequencies, bar graphs and tables, processed by SPSS statistical analysis, the significant verification of the hypotheses raised, will determine the affinity value between variables by performing Spearman's Rho.

Nursing competencies and their relationship with the state of humanized care during pre-professional nursing practices in students of a private university in Lima - 2021

Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing competencies and the state of humanized care during pre-professional nursing practices among students from a private university in Lima, 2021. Materials and methods: This study is of a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 60 students from the 9th and 10th cycles, to whom the "Perception of Nursing Humanized Care Behaviors (PCHE)" scale (with a reliability of 0.94) and the Nursing Competency Evaluation (ECOenf)" scale (with a reliability of 0.98) were applied during a specific period. Results: It was found that graduates who are nursing technicians exhibited low competencies in humanized care, while non-technical students also had low competencies in care. Students who completed their practices at the Ministry of Health (MINSA) developed low competencies in humanized care. However, a positive correlation was found between humanized care and nursing competencies with a significance of 0.397, with a P value < 0.005. Conclusion: Both nursing competencies and humanized care were low, and the hypothesis posed was accepted.

Nursing professional quality of care and patient satisfaction in an outsourced hemodialysis center in Lima, Lima, 2022

Introduction: Patient satisfaction with nursing care has been a decisive factor for renal patients when it comes to decisions regarding return visits, higher compliance with care, and achieving healthier care outcomes. Additionally, patients who had previously received good service or care are more likely to continue visiting the same hospital and refer their friends and family to the same facility, thus increasing the hospital's market share and reputation. Objective: To determine the relationship between the quality of nursing care and patient satisfaction at an outsourced hemodialysis center in Lima, 2022. Methodology: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and a cross-sectional-correlational design. The study population and sample will consist of 90 patients, with non-probabilistic convenience sampling. For data processing and analysis of the survey, the collected information will first be organized, followed by coding. Once the data is gathered, it will be organized according to the study variables. The data will be processed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS version 26.0 statistical software to generate frequency tables by dimensions and indicators. Additionally, Spearman's Correlation Test (Rho) will be used to determine the relationship between the variables.
