Ítem Acceso abierto Perception of Sars-Cov2 infection in health workers of the Chacarilla de Otero Health Center, july 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-01-15) Pérez Cubas, Aurea Agripina; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaObjective: To determine the perception of SARS-CoV-2 infection among healthcare workers at the Chacarilla de Otero Health Center, July 2020. Material and method: Non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional design study. A population of 121 workers was evaluated. The instrument was developed on the Google Forms platform, based on information available from the World Health Organization's website. The questionnaire consisted of 23 items, distributed as 14 questions (2 open-ended, 1 Likert scale, and 11 with dichotomous and multiple-choice options). Results: The population had a predominance of females (62.5%) and an average age of 36.9 ± 12.9 years. The most represented profession was nursing (27.1%), followed by medicine (23.7%). 47.9% indicated that their main source of information about SARS-CoV-2 was social media, followed by governmental websites. Correct answers about SARS-CoV-2-related questions reached 75.3%, showing a regular perception and knowledge of the virus. Vulnerable aspects among workers were questions about the incubation period, transmission routes, and COVID-19 treatment, with assertion frequencies of 49.2%, 49.2%, and 33.1%, respectively. Conclusions: The perception and level of knowledge regarding SARS-CoV-2 infection among healthcare workers was regular, with significant gaps regarding the incubation period, transmission routes, and treatment.
