Ítem Acceso abierto Body image and addiction to social networks in secondary level students of the Pedro Gálvez Egúsquiza Educational Institution, Lima-2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-03-13) Escurra Ludeña, Yampier; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe research aimed to determine the relationship between body image and social media addiction in secondary school students at the I.E.P. Pedro Gálvez Egúsquiza. This study was quantitative, with a correlational level, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design. The Social Media Addiction Questionnaire and the Body Image Dissatisfaction Questionnaire were applied to 151 secondary school students. It was found that body image is significantly correlated with social media addiction (rho = 0.445; p < 0.01), positively and moderately. This means that students with a high level of social media addiction are more likely to develop body image dissatisfaction. If the use of social media is excessively extreme, they will develop difficulties abstaining from it and obsessive thoughts about it.Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence and self-esteem in high school students at a public educational institution in Mala District, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-07-23) Eugenio Medina, Yerismina Magdalena; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThis study aimed to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-esteem among secondary school students from a public institution in the district of Mala. The research used the hypothetico-deductive method, with a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach and a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 268 students, aged 12 to 17. The instruments used were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (1965) adapted by Atienza, Balaguer, & Moreno (2000) and the Trait-Meta Mood Scale (TMMS-24) by Salovey and Mayer, adapted by Fernández-Berrocal et al. (2004). The results indicated a strong and highly significant direct correlation between emotional intelligence and self-esteem. No significant differences were found based on gender or age, but a significant result was found in the dimension of emotional intelligence perception, where women showed greater prevalence.Ítem Acceso abierto Family functionality and self-esteem in students from 3rd to 5th grade of secondary of two public educational institutions of the district of Ate Vitarte, Zone B - Lima, 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-11) Quichca Mendoza, Roxana Vanessa; Tamayo Toro, Mónica AlexandraThe goal of this research was to determine if there is a relationship between family functioning dimensions and self-esteem among students from 3rd to 5th year of secondary school in two public institutions in the Ate Vitarte district, zone B-2019. The sample included 175 students, with 50.9% females and 49.1% males. The data was collected using the FACES III Family Cohesion and Adaptability Scale and the Stanley Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. The research design was descriptive comparative correlational with a non-experimental cross-sectional approach. A moderate and low positive correlation was found between family functioning dimensions and self-esteem (p < 0.01). It was concluded that family functionality dimensions are correlated with self-esteem.Ítem Acceso abierto Family violence and emotional intelligence in students of a private school in the district of Carabayllo, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-26) Mori Cueva, Paola Michelle; Valencia Pecho, Diego IsmaelThis study aimed to determine the relationship between family violence and emotional intelligence in a sample of 126 secondary school students from a private school in the Carabayllo district in 2023. The research was quantitative, correlational, with a basic level, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The Family Violence Questionnaire by Altamirano (2019) and the Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Inventory (reduced version), adapted and standardized in Peru by Ugarriza and Pajares (2005), were applied. The results showed that 96.8% (122) of the students were in a lower level of family violence, while 68.3% (86) were in the regular level of emotional intelligence. An inverse and low-intensity statistically significant relationship was found between the variables (p < .05; rs = -.260). The physical violence (p < .05; rs = -.288) and psychological violence (p < .05; rs = -.220) dimensions also showed significant, inverse, and low-intensity correlations with emotional intelligence.Ítem Acceso abierto Family violence and self-esteem in high school students of the educational institution José Carlos Mariátegui 6063, Villa El Salvador, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-19) Castañeda Escobedo, Jenny Antonia; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe objective of the research was to determine the relationship between family violence and self-esteem in secondary school students. A quantitative, basic, descriptive-correlational approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design was used. The sample consisted of 187 students from José Carlos Mariátegui 6063 secondary school in Villa El Salvador. They were assessed with the Family Violence Questionnaire (CVIFA) and the Stanley Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory - School Form. The results indicated a significant inverse relationship (rho = -0.201), though with a very small effect size (r² = 0.004), between family violence and self-esteem. It was concluded that higher levels of family violence were associated with lower self-esteem, a situation that would be more evident if mediating variables such as loneliness or social anxiety were considered.Ítem Acceso abierto Ruminative thinking style and body image dissatisfaction in adolescent women from a public educational institution in Puente Piedra, Lima 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-23) Flores Bravo, Yesica Lourdes; Rivas Rivas, Jorge EnriqueThe research aimed to describe the relationship between ruminative thinking style and body image dissatisfaction in adolescent women from a public educational institution in Puente Piedra. This was a quantitative, descriptive-correlational study applied to 216 participants from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years of secondary school. The Rumination Response Scale by Nolen-Hoeksema and Morrow (1991) and the Body Image Dissatisfaction Scale by Cooper, Taylor, Cooper, and Fairburn (1987), both adapted to Spanish and the Peruvian context, were used. The results showed a direct, significant, and moderate relationship (p = .000 and rho = .597) between the ruminative thinking style and body image dissatisfaction, as well as between the dimensions of each variable. Furthermore, it was found that 87% of adolescents had moderate levels of rumination, 12% exhibited a ruminative style, and 36.6% presented body dissatisfaction at some level. It is concluded that high rumination scores tend to be associated with high body dissatisfaction scores, suggesting that both reproaches and reflection styles may be linked to concerns about weight and body dissatisfaction.Ítem Acceso abierto Self-esteem and life satisfaction in older adults of the Geriatric Residence of a Religious Congregation, Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-08) Guerra Jimeno, María Liliana; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and life satisfaction in older adults from the Geriatric Residence of a Religious Congregation in Lima. The scientific method was used, with a hypothetical-deductive model, quantitative approach, and basic research type. The level was descriptive correlational, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 80 older adults, both men and women. The instruments used were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (1965) and the Life Satisfaction Scale by Diener, Emmons, Larsen, and Griffin (1985), validated in Peru by Ventura-León, Caycho-Rodríguez, and Barboza-Palomino (2018) and Martínez (2004), respectively. The Pearson correlation result (r = 0.402; p = 0.000 < 0.01) confirmed a positive, moderate, and very significant correlation between self-esteem and life satisfaction. This indicates that the higher the self-esteem, the greater the life satisfaction. It concludes that older adults in a geriatric residence who receive close support and spiritual guidance tend to have better self-esteem and life satisfaction.Ítem Acceso abierto Spiritual well-being and psychological well-being in people, who lost or not, a family member due to covid19(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-03-13) Rojas Ccente, Sandra; Jacobi Romero, Dante JesusThe purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant correlation between spiritual well-being and psychological well-being among individuals who have lost a family member to COVID-19 in the district of Ate Vitarte.
