Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practices on prevention of breast cancer in women, Hospital Regional of Huacho, Lima 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-08-02) Flores Bañez, Vilma Linda; Alfaro Fernández, Paul RubénObjective: To determine the level of knowledge and practices regarding breast cancer prevention among users treated at the gynecology and obstetrics service of the Huacho Regional Hospital in 2021. Methodology: This is a quantitative study with a descriptive and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 207 users, and the sample was also 207. Results: Regarding the age of the interviewed users, 40.1% were between 25-34 years old, 83.1% of the users lived in urban areas, 59.9% were cohabiting, 44.9% had a secondary education level, and 43% were housewives. As for the knowledge level about breast cancer, 82.1% had an average level of knowledge. The level of preventive practices regarding breast cancer prevention showed that 65.2% of the users performed regular self-exams. Conclusion: It was concluded that the level of knowledge about breast cancer prevention among users treated at the gynecology and obstetrics service of Huacho Regional Hospital in 2021 was 82.1%, indicating an average knowledge level. The level of preventive practices was 65.2%, showing a regular level of practices regarding breast cancer prevention.
