This was an observational, prospective, cross-sectional study. A clinical examination was conducted on 90 children aged 6 to 12 years from the Colegio Nacional Sillapata in the Huánuco Department. A dental caries frequency of 95.5% was found, with a CPOD index of 2.21 and ceo-d of 4.41, corresponding to a low and moderate severity level, respectively. The prevalence of the clinical consequences of untreated dental caries (PUFA/pufa) was 44.44%. Conclusion: The severity of dental caries, as measured by CPOD/ceo-d, was low/moderate, while the clinical consequences of untreated dental caries, according to PUFA/pufa, were 44.44%, with a higher prevalence in the component "p" in deciduous dentition.
