Effectiveness of skin antisepsis with chlorhexidine compared to other antiseptics for the prevention of infections in patients requiring a peripheral venous catheter
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-09-22) Martinez Vera, Yasmina Tatiana; Rosales Clemente, Raquel Nelly; Bonilla Asalde, César Antonio
Objective: Systematize the patents on the effectiveness of skin antisepsis for the prevention of infection in patients who require the use of a peripheral venous catheter. Materials and Methods: Systematic Reviews are scientific inquiries, where the element of exploration is the unique primary works. It is a fundamental instrument for the synthesis of scientific reference, increasing the value of study results and in turn identifying areas that need to be investigated. It is executed using a strict methodology and high quality control to avoid erroneous conclusions. The investigation is limited to writings with complete content. Those chosen were subjected to a thorough investigation, using the grade system that allowed us to record the strength of recommendation. From the final choice, 10 articles were selected, of which we found that 20% (02) belong to the country of Japan and France, while 10% (01) correspond, respectively, to Canada, Portugal, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. , United States and Ireland. Among the randomized clinical trials we find studies from Canada, the United Kingdom, France with 70% and systematic reviews from Portugal, the United States and Singapore with 30%. Results: Of all the articles analyzed, 80% affirm that chlorhexidine is more effective than the use of other antiseptics in preventing infections. Conclusions: The research reviewed shows that there is effectiveness of skin antisepsis with chlorhexidine compared to other antiseptics in preventing infections in patients requiring a peripheral venous catheter.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-08) Carbajal Huamán, Shirley Celine; Aldana Puse, Lorena Milagros; Gamarra Bustillos, Carlos
Objective: Systematize evidence on the effectiveness of the bedside water swallow test to detect aspiration in patients with stroke. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study has a systematic, observational and retrospective review design; of articles with full text, which identified their grade or quality of evidence according to the Grade System. Likewise, the sample was made up of 10 articles obtained from the following databases Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. Results: Of which 50% correspond to systematic review design and 50% randomized clinical studies, corresponding to the countries of China 20%, United States 10%, Taiwan 10%, Singapore 10%, Canada 10%, Iran 10% , Greece 10%, Egypt 10% and Spain 10%. Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% demonstrate that the bedside water swallow test is effective in detecting aspiration in stroke patients. Conclusions: 100% showed that the bedside water swallowing test is effective in detecting aspiration in patients with stroke, due to its diagnostic accuracy it achieves high sensitivity (positive diagnostic test) and specificity (negative diagnostic test). ; It is a clinical detection that is carried out due to the presence of swallowing difficulties or dysphagia; Because they are treated promptly and effectively, they raise the professional image of nursing due to their ability in aspiration management; Likewise, it contributes greatly by being highly accurate and reliable.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-08) Murgueytio Atuncar, Sheyla Johana; Torres Aragón, Victor Hugo; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo Amado
Objective: Systematize available studies on the effectiveness of local anesthesia in reducing pain in patients with a prescription for bladder catheterization in an emergency. Materials and methods: The study responds to the quantitative approach, systematic review design, population 19 articles and the sample of 10 studies, studies were located in the Cochrane Plus, Lilacs, Pubmed, Scielo, Epistemonikos, Intramed databases. A critical and intensive assessment of each study was carried out, the quality of the evidence and the strength of recommendation for each study were determined through the GRADE method. Of 10 articles reviewed, 80% (8/10) were randomized clinical trials, 20% (2/10) Meta-analysis. The evidence found comes from the United States (40%), Canada (20%), Israel (20%), Singapore (10%) and Australia (10%). Results: Of the evidence found, 60% (n=6/10) indicate that local anesthesia is effective in reducing pain in patients prescribed bladder catheterization; while 40% (n=4/10) demonstrate that local anesthesia is not effective in reducing pain in patients prescribed bladder catheterization. Conclusion: local anesthesia is effective in reducing pain in patients prescribed bladder catheterization.

Use of adenosine versus calcium channel antagonists for the care of patients with supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency room
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-08-02) Castillo Lazo, Gilmer Eduardo; Soto López, Karla Alexandra; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
Objective: Systematize the evidence on the use of adenosine compared to calcium channel antagonists in the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency room. Material and methods: Algorithms were created and a search was carried out in the PubMed, Cochrane, TripdataBase and PlosOne metadata. Results: A total of 1915 studies were found and of them ten were included in the study. Two publications are from the United Kingdom, two from the USA, two from Australia, one belongs to Singapore, another to Uruguay, another from Germany, and the last from India. Conclusion: According to this review, the quality of the evidence is medium and high and the strength of the recommendation is high only in three articles reviewed. The seven studies affirm that the efficacy of adenosine and calcium channel blocker products are similar in effectiveness. Both medications differ in their side effects: Adenosine due to redness, nausea, chest pain and headache. Calcium channel antagonists have been shown to produce hypotension.
