Ítem Acceso abierto Comparison between the Hassel and Farman and Baccetti methods in determining the average age of appearance of the skeletal maturation stages of the vertebrae.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-06) Quintanilla Cerda, Patty; Ascanoa Olazo, Jimmy AntonioThe purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the Hassel and Farman method and the Baccetti method in determining the average age of appearance of skeletal maturation stages of cervical vertebrae. The study was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective. The study population consisted of 150 digital cephalometric radiographs of patients aged 8 to 20 years. The observation technique was used, and data were collected using a data collection sheet designed by the researcher, which included the radiograph number, patient gender, age, vertebra order, and the stage according to the evaluated method. Results: For the Hassel and Farman method, the central age values within each analyzed stage increased with the stage, with the highest values observed for stage 6 (mean 17.3±2.2 years). For the Baccetti method, the central age values within each stage also increased with the stage, with the highest values observed for stage V (mean 17±1.9 years). A strong direct linear correlation was found between the skeletal maturation stages of both methods (rho=0.92, p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the Hassel and Farman and Baccetti methods in determining skeletal maturation stages.Ítem Acceso abierto Skeletal maturation according to the Baccetti method and stages of dental calcification according to Demirjian, evaluated in Cephalometric and Panoramic radiographs in Lima - 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-19) Lima Arriola, Jennifer Paola; Mezzich Gálvez, Jorge LuisThe objective of this research was to determine the relationship between skeletal maturation according to the Baccetti method and dental calcification stages according to Demirjian, as evaluated in cephalometric and panoramic radiographs in Lima 2023. A hypothetical-deductive methodology with a quantitative, basic, non-experimental, observational approach, with correlational scope and cross-sectional design, was used. The sample included 150 panoramic and cephalometric radiographs. The observation technique was used to assess both variables, and a data collection sheet was used as an instrument to record and organize the information. The results, obtained using the Chi-square test for the relationship between the stages according to Baccetti and Demirjian by tooth (33, 34, 35, 36, 37), revealed a significant association (p < 0.001) in all the evaluated teeth. This finding led to the rejection of the null hypothesis in all cases. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between skeletal maturation according to Baccetti and dental calcification stages according to Demirjian, as evaluated in cephalometric and panoramic radiographs.
