Ítem Acceso abierto Noise level in the neonatal intensive care unit at Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz Hospital, Puente Piedra, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-22) Barrientos Loayza, Zenia; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleNeonatal units are areas of hospitals in charge of caring for and caring for sick newborns. These intensive care units (ICU) are subjected to sources that generate noise. These high levels cause stress and anger in patients. The newborn exposed to the sensitivity of risk makes it capable of having sequelae, it comes from an intrauterine environment where it receives a variety of stimuli, at birth there is an environmental change, where it finds a noisy environment, lights, painful and aggressive experiences, this influences in his behavior. Due to the number of equipment and personnel found in the environments of neonatal units, there are conditions of sensory overload, overstimulation and unfavorable adaptations to development. The most affected are sick premature babies; these high patterns of sensory input alter the functions of the premature child and produce changes in their behavior and sleep state.
