Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship of the gynecological-obstetric characteristics and the types of spontaneous abortion in the Sergio E. Bernales hospital - Lima, 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-30) Montes Huanay, Vicente Amarildo; Ayala Peralta, Félix DasioObjective: To determine the relationship between gynecological-obstetric characteristics and types of spontaneous abortion at Sergio E. Bernales Hospital, Lima, 2019. Materials and Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective, and correlational study aimed to determine the relationship between the study variables, gynecological-obstetric characteristics, and types of spontaneous abortions. The sample consisted of 261 cases diagnosed with spontaneous abortion from the gynecology and obstetrics service. Results: The studied characteristics (previous pregnancies, intergenic period, previous abortions, use of contraceptive methods) are directly related to types of abortions (ongoing, retained–missed, incomplete, complete). The hypothesis testing yielded p-values (0.026, 0.036, 0.023, 0.048), all below 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the studied characteristics. Conclusion: Gynecological-obstetric characteristics show a positive relationship with the types of spontaneous abortion, with statistical significance indicated by p-values less than 0.05. The dimensions (previous pregnancies, intergenic period, previous abortions, use of contraceptive methods) proposed in the study directly influence spontaneous abortion.
