Material and method: The population was made up of 151 students in the last cycles of nursing. The instrument was the questionnaire which was created by the researchers. Data processing was carried out with the SPSS version 23 program. Results: More than 50 percent of nursing students in the last cycles had at least one sharp accident, registering up to 4 accidents in some cases. Regarding the characteristics of the accidents, this study found that 74.4% of accidents occurred in the morning shift. 55.1% of the accidents occurred in the medicine service. 53.8% of sharps accidents caused superficial wounds. 60.3% of the accidents occurred in the treatment car and 62.8% of the accidents were caused by needles. Physical activity is crucial for health, as it reduces the risk of physical and mental diseases and strengthens muscles, preventing injuries. Sedentary behavior is the primary cause of these disorders, which affect people of all ages, with higher prevalence in adults. However, this project focuses on high school students (ages 12-17) because these disorders can begin in adolescence. Virtual education, imposed due to COVID-19, has exacerbated these problems, creating new physical and psychosocial risks.Ítem Acceso abierto Stress coping in nursing interns at the Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-09) Asto Gonzales, Miriam Maribel; Fuentes Siles, María AngélicaObjective: Determine the level of coping with stress in nursing interns at the Norbert Wiener Private University, Lima 2019. Materials and methods: The research has a quantitative, descriptive approach. The methodological design is descriptive and transversal. The population is made up of 133 nursing interns from the UPNW and the sample is 101 where the inclusion and exclusion criteria set out in the study were used. The instrument that was used consists of 42 questions that are designed to assess 7 coping strategies. The answers will be given according to a Likert scale, giving each indicator 4 categories from 0 to 3. Results: The level of coping with stress in Nursing interns at the UPNW, Lima 2019, in terms of the problem dimension, 67.3% present regular coping. , 17.8% inadequate and 14.9% adequate; In the positive reappraisal dimension, 72.3% have regular coping; In the dimension seeking social support, 56.4% present regular coping, 25.7% inadequate; In the open emotional expression dimension it shows 70.3% have regular coping, 14.9% are adequate and inadequate, in the negative self-focus dimension it shows 54.4% have regular coping, 30.7% inadequate; In the religion dimension, 56.4% present regular coping, 24.8% show inadequate coping; and finally the avoidance dimension shows that 54.5% have regular coping, 23.8% have inadequate coping and only 21.8% have adequate coping. Conclusions: The level of coping with stress in nursing interns at the Norbert Wiener Private University showed that they present regular coping.
