    Academic performance and factors contributing to university dropout among nursing students at a private university in 2018

    Objective: Determine the relationship between academic performance and university dropout factors in nursing students from a Private University in 2018. Material and Method: quantitative, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional approach. The sample was 105 students who abandoned their studies in two semesters of study (period 2016 I and 2016 II). A validated instrument was used with Cronbach's alpha with a value of r = 0.853, Spearman's Rho of sig. 0.049, less than 0.05, therefore there is a relationship between academic performance and university dropout. Results: it was found that 54% have low academic performance, 44% have average performance and 2% have excellent performance. On the other hand, among the dropout factors that were found, the economic factor was the one that prevailed in 46%, followed by the academic factor in 32% and the social cultural factor in 22%. Conclusions: It was found that more than Half of the students had low academic performance and of these, half dropped out due to economic factors.

    Objective: Determine the overall academic performance of students from IX and X Cycle of the UPNW Professional Academic School of Nursing, Semester 2016-I to 2018-II. Materials and Methods: systematic review, use of the Evaluation Record system of IX and X cycle students of the UPNW Professional Academic School of Nursing. Databases: Pubmed, Biomedic Sciences, Elvesier, Medline and Scielo. 40% cohort studies, 30% prospective study, 20% systematic review, 10% cross-sectional study. 60% of the articles are of high quality, strong strength of evidence, 30% moderate quality and strong strength of evidence, 10% low quality and weak strength of evidence. 29.4% belong to the United States, 26.5% Colombia, 17.6% Peru, 14.7% Spain, 5.9% Mexico and Chile, respectively. Results: All the articles reviewed systematically indicate that the nursing students during the internship presented an effective performance that in our categorization coincides with the notable categorization. All the articles reviewed systematically indicate effectiveness in the application of a preventive package to reduce surgical wound infections in the patient during the intraoperative period. Conclusions: The academic performance of the IX and X cycle students of the Professional Academic School of Nursing of the Norbert Wiener Private University, Semester 2016-I to 2018-II. It was rated as Notable.

    Academic procrastination in nursing interns at Norbert Wiener University

    Objective: Determine academic procrastination in nursing interns at the Norbert Wiener Private University, 2019. Material and methods: It is descriptive with a non-experimental design, quantitative and cross-sectional approach. The sample was made up of 112 nursing interns, this information was obtained from the school's internal list. To obtain data, the validated instrument, the academic procrastination scale (EAP), was used, showing a very high internal consistency (α = 0.816). Results: It allowed us to know that academic procrastination, which most predominates in nursing interns, is The medium criterion is 74% and the High criteria is 26%, meaning that there is self-control, time organization, ineffective learning strategies, postponement of the start, continuation or completion of academic tasks and time pressure in completing tasks, this indicates that there is stress from the activities carried out by nursing interns. Conclusions: In total academic procrastination, there are medium and high criteria in the assignment of values, indicating stress, that is, low self-control, time organization, little effectiveness in learning strategy, completion and pressure of academic tasks. In the Academic Self-Regulation dimension, there are Medium and high criteria in the assignment of values ​​with low self-control and organization of time and in learning strategies. In the dimension of Postponing activities, there are Medium and high criteria in the assignment of values ​​with low self-control and organization of time and in learning strategies.

    Academic satisfaction and its relationship with achievement in nursing skills in graduates of a private university in Lima - 2023

    The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between academic satisfaction as an alternative for achievement in nursing competencies in graduates of a Private University of Lima 2023, where the non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational methodology was used, consisting of 102 nursing graduates. The Chi square test was used for the stated objectives. The results indicate that the graduates surveyed at a private university in Lima, 2.0%, stated that they are dissatisfied with their academic satisfaction, 35.29% stated that they are slightly satisfied, and 72.5% said that they are satisfied, and 1.0% said that they are dissatisfied with their academic satisfaction. They stated that nursing competencies are of a low level, 27.5% stated a medium level and 71.6% stated a high level. In conclusion, there is a significant correlation between both variables, whose significance value p = 0.000 < 0.05; with a Spearman coefficient of 0.680, indicating a positive and good correlation between academic satisfaction and nursing competencies.

    Academic stress and anxiety in students of the v nursing cycle of the Norbert Wiener Private University of Lima, 2023

    This study had the objective of analyze how academic stress is related to anxiety in nursing students at the Norbert Wiener Private University, 2023. The method was hypothetical deductive, quantitative approach, applied type research, correlational design, its population was 123 students and its sample consisted of 93 students. The technique for data collection was the survey, while the instrument was the questionnaire. To measure academic stress, the SISCO Inventory devised by Arturo Barraza and validated in Peru by Soledad Sullca in 2020 was chosen. For its part, anxiety has been measured with the Anxiety Assessment Scale whose authorship corresponds to C. Spielberg with validation for the Peruvian context by Chambi and Flores in the year 2022. Finally, with the statistical analysis, the frequency distribution, the normality test and the contrasting of hypotheses will be known. In the descriptive statistics, tables and frequency figures will be elaborated with the results. Inferential statistics will be used to calculate parameters and test population hypotheses. Once verified, the data will be entered into the SPSS application for analysis and interpretation. To statistically examine the relationship between the two key variables, Spearman's Rho will be used.

    Academic stress and anxiety in tenth-cycle nursing students of a private university in Lima, 2023

    The objective of this study was: To analyze how academic stress is related to anxiety in tench cycle nursing students of a private university in Lima, 2023. Methodology: The method was hypothetical deductive, quantitative approach, applied type research, correlational design. The population was 123 students and the sample consisted of 93 nursing students. The technique for data collection was the survey, while the instrument was the questionnaire. To measure academic stress, the SISCO SV- 21 Inventory devised by Arturo Barraza and validated in Peru by Sullca in 2020 was chosen. For its part, anxiety has been measured with the Anxiety Assessment Scale whose authorship corresponds to C Spielberg with validation for the Peruvian context by Chambi and Flores in the year 2022. The data matrix will be processed with SPSS software version 26.0. Finally, with the descriptive statistical analysis we will have the frequencies of the variables and their dimensions, and with the inferential analysis the Spearman's R correlation test will be applied. The results showed that academic stress and anxiety in students of the tenth cycle presented moderate stress with moderate anxiety in 36.6%; in the dimension stressors of academic stress with anxiety there is moderate stress with moderate anxiety in 31.2; in the dimension symptoms of academic stress with anxiety presented moderate stress with moderate anxiety in 34.4%; and in the dimension coping strategies of academic stress with anxiety presented moderate stress and moderate anxiety in 29.0%. It was concluded that academic stress presents a negative correlation (Rho= -.090) and (Sig. = .393) with anxiety in tenth cycle nursing students of a private university in Lima, that is, there is no statistically significant relationship.

    Academic stress and its relationship with procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university of Lima, 2023

    Based on the present research study, we have sought to analyze the relationship between academic stress and procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university in Lima, 2023; For this purpose, an applied methodology and a quantitative approach with a correlational level and non-experimental design has been used, being the sample of 157 nursing students, who were surveyed through instruments such as questionnaires, also both instruments were subjected to a reliability process by means of Cronbach's alpha, being that the SISCO inventory was validated in Lima by Álvarez and Cerrón in 2020 while the EPA instrument was through the analysis executed by Verastegui and Milagros in Peru in 2017 which allowed identifying the reliability of the referred instruments. The results showed the existence of a relationship between the variables investigated, being the Rho value=.778 and a significance of p=<0.05 which allowed concluding that there is a relationship between the variables academic stress and procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university in Lima, 2023.

    Academic stress and its relationship with ways of coping with stress in high school students nursing of the seventh and eighth cycle of the Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2023

    Objective: Determine the relationship between academic stress and ways of coping with stress in students of the 7th and 8th cycle of the Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2023. Materials and methods: The study consists of a quantitative perspective and the design is correlational. and cross section. The sample was made up of 166 undergraduate students who were evaluated using the academic stress inventory (SISCO), and the stress coping questionnaire (COPE). Results: Where in the first place it was evident that the majority represented in 112 students were between the ages of 18 and 22 (67.5%), in 129 students they are female (77.7%), in 144 students they are single (86 .7%), in 96 students only studies (57.8%), firstly it was evident that the academic stress variable presented a moderate level in 48.2% (80), that the dimension in stressful stimuli presented a moderate level deep in 56.6% (94), symptoms dimension presented a moderating level in 53% (88), and the coping strategies dimension presented a deep level in 54.8% (91). The first variable presents a frequent way to face stress in 80.1% (133), the dimension in question presents a frequent way to face stress in the face of a problem in 81.9% (136), the dimension in question presents a frequent way to cope with stress focused on emotion in 81.9% (136), that the dimension in question presents a frequent way to cope with stress focused on avoidance in 81.3% (135) in the Deep-level academic stress with coping methods of the frequent form in 44.6% and with a frequency of 74 nursing students of the seventh and eighth cycle of the Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2023. Conclusions: As a first conclusion, the general objective that was proposed was achieved in determining the relationship of academic stress with ways of coping with stress in nursing students of the seventh and eighth cycle of the Norbert Wiener University, Lima 2023, whose values were a significant association of ,000 and a correlation coefficient of 87.7%, and therefore the alternative hypothesis is accepted.

    Academic stress and procrastination in students of the ninth cycle of Nursing at the Norbert Wiener University, Lima, 2021

    The study was conducted with the aim of identifying the relationship between academic stress and procrastination among nursing students at the Norbert Wiener University. The objective was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between academic stress and procrastination in students of the ninth cycle of Nursing at Norbert Wiener University, Lima, 2021. It is an applied research study, using the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach. The research was descriptive-theoretical or pure, and a correlational design was used, with a sample of 53 ninth-cycle nursing students. The academic stress inventory and the SISCO procrastination scale were used for evaluation. Spearman's Rho statistic was applied for data analysis. According to the findings on academic stress, 26 students (49% of the class) from the ninth cycle of nursing at Norbert Wiener University experience moderate academic stress; 20 students (38%) show moderately low academic stress, and 2 students (4%) have moderately high academic stress. Regarding procrastination, 25 students (47%) show moderately high procrastination; 22 students (42%) have high procrastination, and 5 students (9%) present moderate procrastination. The correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between academic stress and procrastination in ninth-cycle nursing students, with a coefficient of 0.379 and a p-value of 0.005, which is below the estimated error (0.01).

    Academic stress and sleep quality in students of the eighth cycle of nursing at a private university in Lima, 2023

    The general objective of this research was to determine the relationship between academic stress and quality of sleep-in students of the eighth cycle of nursing at a private university in Lima, 2023. The hypothetical deductive, quantitative, applied, cross-sectional method was applied. and correlational level. The population was made up of 80 nursing students from the eighth cycle of a private university in Lima. The technique was the survey, the instrument applied was the SISCO SV Inventory of academic stress and the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (ICSP). The statistical results showed that there is no significant relationship between the academic stress variable and sleep quality (p=0.294) and they are related in a minimal negative way (Rho = -0.117). The decision is made not to reject the null hypothesis and not to accept the alternative hypothesis. It was concluded that stress is not related to sleep quality in nursing students at a private university in Lima. It is recommended to carry out further research that demonstrates the multicausality of academic stress in nursing students.

Material and methods: Under the quantitative approach, applied type, descriptive level, non-experimental design, there was a sample of 94 students between 20 and 41 years old, 87.5% being women. An adaptation of the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory duly validated by experts and with a good level of reliability (Cronbach's Alpha 0.831) was applied.

    Attitudes of nurses toward euthanasia in terminally ill patients in critical care areas of a hospital in Lima, 2020

    Aim. To characterize the attitudes of nurses towards euthanasia in terminally ill patients in critical areas of a Hospital in Lima. Year 2020. Materials and methods. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in a sample made up of 52 nurses who were surveyed, and the rating scale was applied: Scale of attitudes towards euthanasia. The collected data were entered into a database of the SPSS 21 program; They were processed with the percentile test. Results. A little less than half of the nurses surveyed (40.4%) indicated attitudes in favor of euthanasia in terminally ill patients, followed by a figure close to the attitude of rejection (36.5%). In the perception of knowledge dimension, attitudes in favor of euthanasia stood out, in a little less than half (40.4%), followed by a neutral attitude in a little less than a third (32.7%). In the affective dimension, a little more than a third expressed neutral attitudes towards Euthanasia (36.5%), followed by a close figure in favor of attitudes (34.6%). In the behavioral dimension, there was a predominance of neutral attitude, in just under half (40.4%), with a slight tendency towards attitudes of rejection of euthanasia in more than a third (34.6%). Conclusions. The attitudes of nurses towards euthanasia in terminally ill patients are in favor in just under half. However, a close figure expresses rejection of Euthanasia, which represents a divided controversy, with a slight tendency of nurses with attitudes in favor of euthanasia in terminally ill patients in critical areas of a Hospital in Lima.

    Attitudes towards scientific research and its relationship with the disposition for the preparation of theses in nursing students of a private university of Lima, 2023

    With the general objective of analyzing the relationship between the attitude towards scientific research and the willingness to write theses in nursing students of the x cycle, Norbert Wiener University, 2023. The research has a quantitative approach, correlational scope, the design of the research is non-experimental, cross-sectional, 100 students of the tenth cycle of the Norbert Wiener University have been considered. The instrument consisted of the Attitudes towards research questionnaire and the Scale of willingness to carry out a thesis using the survey technique. The distribution of sociodemographic frequencies of the age of the students indicates that the female sex is the majority in this study with 89% and the male sex is 11%. The attitude towards research with the disposition to carry out a thesis is that there is a moderately favorable attitude with a medium disposition to elaborate thesis in 81%. The attitude in its affective dimension with the willingness to write the thesis is that the attitude is favorable with average willingness to write the thesis in 54%. The attitude in its behavioral dimension with the willingness to write a thesis is that the attitude is moderately favorable with a half willingness to write a thesis in 50%. The attitude in its cognitive dimension with the willingness to prepare thesis is that the attitude is moderately favorable with a medium willingness to prepare thesis in 62%. All outcomes were measured by crosstabulation and Spearman's Rho correlation. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the attitude towards research with the willingness to write thesis.

    Burnout and engagement in nursing students at Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, Lima - 2018.

    Materials and Methods: This study follows a quantitative approach, and regarding the study design, it is non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 563 nursing students. The instruments used were the (MBI-SS), which allows for assessing the level of burnout in students, and the (UWES), which measures the level of engagement in students. Results: Academic burnout and academic engagement have a slightly positive relationship, as the Spearman correlation coefficient (Rho) is 0.101 (p = 0.009). A medium level of burnout was found overall (97.5%), with the dimensions showing medium levels in emotional exhaustion (74%), low levels in cynicism (79%), and medium levels in inefficacy (65%). Regarding engagement, a high level was found overall (58.1%), with the dimensions showing very high levels in vigor (46.9%), dedication (49.6%), and absorption (79.6%). Conclusions: Academic burnout and academic engagement show a slight relationship, with burnout predominating at a medium level and engagement at a high level.

    Burnout syndrome and its relationship with academic performance in students of the IX cycle of the school of nursing of the private University Norbert Wiener Lima 2023

    Objective: To determine the relationship between burnout syndrome and academic performance in students of the IX cycle of the School of Nursing of the Norbert Wiener Lima University 2023. Methodology: It was developed with a quantitative approach, the research was hypothetical-deductive. / cross-sectional correlational, composed of a total finite population was made up of 120 students of the nursing school of the IX cycle, taking the total population as a sample. For the data collection, the survey was presented together with its instrument, with respect to the first variable it was a questionnaire made up of 22 questions, divided into 3 dimensions, the dimension being emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal fulfillment; For the second variable, the questionnaire was made up of 17 questions together with 3 dimensions, these being vigor, dedication and absorption. Results: It was obtained that 59 nursing students (56.7%) had a medium burnout syndrome with high academic performance, where Cronbach's alpha is 0.001, indicating that it is below the alpha of 0.05. Conclusion: Based on the results acquired in this research work, it is shown that the hypothesis is acceptable, supporting a statistically significant relationship between burnout syndrome and academic performance.

    Burnout syndrome in nursing graduates of the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, Lima - 2020

    The objective of this research was to determine the level of Burnout Syndrome in nursing graduates of the Norbert Wiener Private University, Lima – 2020. Materials and Methods: The study was qualitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional, conducted on a population of 70 nursing graduates who were interviewed and surveyed using the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The collected data were entered into the SPSS database and processed using percentile tests. Results: 81.4% of the nursing graduates were female, 48.6% were between 24 to 29 years old, and 67.1% were single. Regarding the dimensions of Burnout Syndrome, in the emotional exhaustion dimension, 47.1% reported a high level, while 24.3% reported a low level; in the depersonalization dimension, 37% reported high and low levels, respectively, and 26% reported a medium level; in the personal accomplishment dimension, 10% reported a high level, 34.3% reported a medium level, and 55.7% reported a low level. Conclusions: 37.1% of the nursing graduates from Norbert Wiener Private University have a high level of Burnout Syndrome.

    Objective: Determine the level of Burnout syndrome in nursing interns at the Norbert Wiener University Lima - 2020. Materials and methods: The research has a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, we worked with 70 nursing interns at the Norbert University Wiener. The Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire was applied, which contains three aspects of Burnout syndrome such as: Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Personal Achievement. Results: It was found that in the sociodemographic data there are inmates aged 19 to 30 years in 64%, and female in 77.1%. In the Burnout Syndrome in the dimension of emotional exhaustion it was average 60%. In depersonalization it was low 46%. In personal achievement it was average 48%. In total, 50% were obtained at an average level for Burnout. Conclusions: There are nursing interns with Burnout Syndrome in the emotional exhaustion dimension that predominates in 60%.

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la relación entre la calidad del sueño y la salud mental en estudiantes de enfermería del segundo ciclo de una universidad privada de Lima durante el año 2024. Se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicado, diseño no experimental, correlacional y de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 219 estudiantes, a quienes se les aplicaron dos instrumentos validados: la Sleep Quality Scale (SQS) y el GHQ-28 de Goldberg. Los resultados mostraron que el 71,23% presentó una calidad del sueño media y el 59,17% mostró un nivel medio de salud mental. El análisis de Spearman evidenció una correlación positiva y significativa entre la calidad del sueño y la salud mental (r=0,574; p<0,001). Asimismo, las dimensiones energía diurna y regularidades del sueño presentaron correlaciones significativas con la salud mental (r=0,526 y r=0,360 respectivamente), mientras que el confort del sueño tuvo una correlación baja pero significativa (r=0,166). Se concluyó que una mejor calidad del sueño se asocia con un mejor estado de salud mental en esta población, lo que sugiere la necesidad de implementar programas de promoción del sueño reparador y estrategias de cuidado emocional desde la formación universitaria.
