Publicación Acceso abierto Técnicas de identificación de aminoácidos en alimentos para animales mayores(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-07) Antón Sandoval, Maycol Arturo; Félix Véliz, Luis Miguel VisitaciónThe objective of the present study is to determine the most recommended analytical techniques for the identification and quantification of amino acids in animal feed for large animals. Based on the recommendations of organizations that regulate the manufacture and quality control of animal feed, research was carried out on the use of modern analytical techniques with high performance and reliability. Official methods for amino acid analysis in animal feed were reviewed. The majority of analytical techniques identified include: Gas Chromatography (GC) coupled to Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) coupled to Mass Spectrometry (HPLC/MS), Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) coupled to Mass Spectrometry (MS), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) coupled to Mass Spectrometry (MS). Other techniques include Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR). It is concluded that the most recommended analytical technique is High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), as it demonstrates good repeatability and reproducibility, along with an acceptable cost-benefit ratio accessible to the different laboratories conducting these analyses. However, coupling this identification technique with Mass Spectrometry (MS or MS/MS) would further enhance these characteristics and benefits.
