Effectiveness of the modified Valsalva maneuver in the reversal of supraventricular tachycardia in emergency patients.

The patients with supraventricular tachycardia are reverted with the modified Valsalva maneuver through leg elevation and placing the patient supine at the end of expiration. This should be considered as a first-line routine treatment. In this study, the result showed that patients returned to sinus rhythm one minute after the intervention, deeming the Valsalva maneuver effective.

Knowledge and quality of nursing care received by patients with chronic tachycardia in the emergency service of the Huaraz Hospital, 2023

The General Objective of the research of this study was: “To determine the relationship between the Knowledge and Quality of Nursing Care received by Patients with Chronic Tachycardia in the Emergency Service of the Hospital of Huaraz, 2023. This Population will be made up of 52 nurses. who work in the Emergency service. The Sample: will be the total population, Methodological design: The type of research will be applied. The design will be observational, descriptive, correlational and transversal. The survey technique was used to collect the data, as an instrument the “Knowledge” questionnaire adapted by Martínez was reliable using Crombach's Alpha of 0.90 and for the variable “Quality of Nursing Care” was evaluated, the questionnaire adapted by Interns and Morels, reliable through Crombach's Alpha with an index of 0.90. For the statistical processing and analysis of data obtained in the study, a matrix table will be used in the Microsoft Exel 2021 program and the SPSS 27.0 program. The statistical analyzes will be based on the Hypothesis posed by the Spearman Rho test.

Use of adenosine versus calcium channel antagonists for the care of patients with supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency room

Objective: Systematize the evidence on the use of adenosine compared to calcium channel antagonists in the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency room. Material and methods: Algorithms were created and a search was carried out in the PubMed, Cochrane, TripdataBase and PlosOne metadata. Results: A total of 1915 studies were found and of them ten were included in the study. Two publications are from the United Kingdom, two from the USA, two from Australia, one belongs to Singapore, another to Uruguay, another from Germany, and the last from India. Conclusion: According to this review, the quality of the evidence is medium and high and the strength of the recommendation is high only in three articles reviewed. The seven studies affirm that the efficacy of adenosine and calcium channel blocker products are similar in effectiveness. Both medications differ in their side effects: Adenosine due to redness, nausea, chest pain and headache. Calcium channel antagonists have been shown to produce hypotension.
