    Comparative dimensional analysis of the lumen of .022“ x .028“ tubes of six brands of orthodontic straight wire marketed in Peru in 2021

    This research aimed to determine the dimensional differences in the slots of .022” x .028” straight orthodontic arch tubes from six brands marketed in Peru in 2021. The research approach was quantitative, applied, and non-experimental. The non-probabilistic sample consisted of 60 upper tubes from the brands under study. The testing took place in an HTL testing laboratory in Lima, Peru. Data collection was carried out using a data collection form validated by three experts. Results: Regarding the tube slot dimensions based on height and depth, it was found that all measurements were oversized compared to the nominal value. In terms of the tube outlet dimensions based on height, all measurements were oversized except for C.C.O, which was within the American tolerance. The outlet depth measurements were oversized, with the Andrews 2 tubes being undersized. When comparing the entry and exit measurements based on height and depth between all study groups, statistically significant differences were found.
