Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of methotrexate in monotherapy compared to methotrexate in combination therapies in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-11-04) Pachas Torres, Bertha Maribel; Rivera Lozada De Bonilla, OrianaSUMMARY Materials and Methods: Systematic Review, summarizes the products of numerous primary investigations. It is a fundamental part of evidence-based nursing, due to its method, which recognizes significant studies to answer questions peculiar to daily practice, the exploration has been limited to articles with full text and those chosen were subject to careful reading, making use of of the Grade system to attribute recommendation strength. Results: After the systematic review, of 100% of the articles, 20% belong to Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and 10% to Turkey and Belgium. In correlation to the study designs, 70% belong to a Clinical Trial, 20% to a systematic review and 10% to a meta-analysis. Of all the articles studied, 90% affirm that Methotrexate with combined therapy are effective for the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis. Conclusions: Studies related to Methotrexate with combined therapy are more effective than monotherapy, because they showed adequate tolerance, controlled disease activity, prevented joint injury, inhibited radiological progression, favored remission, and there was an adequate improvement response.
