Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of negative pressure in the treatment of diabetic foot(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-27) Chucos Ortiz, Medardo Rafael; Pretell Aguliar, Rosa MaríaObjective: To systematize the evidence related to the effectiveness of negative pressure therapy in the treatment of diabetic foot. Material and method: The type of study is quantitative, the design of a systematic review, the studies were obtained from the following databases: Pubmed, Medline, Dialnet, Cochrane and Epistemonikos. Of a total of 10 studies selected from 2014 to 2020, 60% (n = 6/10) correspond to systematic reviews, 20% (n = 2/10) are equivalent to a meta-analysis and 20% (n = 2/10) to clinical trials. According to the quality of evidence, the strength of recommendation is 100% high quality. The studies were developed in countries such as the United Kingdom 20%, Poland 10%, Saudi Arabia 10%, Egypt 10%, Spain 10%, Spanish Basque Community 10%, Germany 10%, Iran 10% and China 10%. Results: According to the systematic review, it is evident that 90% (n=9/10) of the studies show that negative pressure therapy is an effective treatment, however, 10% (n=1/10) indicate that it is not effective in the treatment of diabetic foot. Conclusion: It is concluded that of the 10 scientific articles, 9 studies show that negative pressure therapy is effective, 1 study indicates that it is not effective in the treatment of diabetic foot.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of topical negative pressure therapy to reduce infections in the treatment of patients with surgical wounds(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-04) Arce Abarca, Oscar Guillermo; Valencia Alvarado, Nelly Alejandra; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosThe type of study is quantitative and the research design is a systematic review, less than 10 years old. 90% of the articles show the effectiveness of topical negative pressure therapy in reducing infections in the treatment of patients with surgical wounds. 10% did not demonstrate the effectiveness of this therapy because they reported that larger definitive trials were needed to clarify the clinical usefulness of negative pressure treatment of surgical wounds. It was evident in the research reviewed that there is effectiveness with the use of topical negative pressure therapy to reduce infections, considering the benefits: formation of granulation tissue, lower mortality and hospital stay time, and reduction of complications in the healing, which are determinants in the quality of life in patients with surgical wounds.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of topical negative pressure therapy in the treatment of patients with wounds(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-05-21) Bernabel León, Olga Catherine; Malca Saenz, Nelly Eredita; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerTopical Negative Pressure Therapy (TPNt) is a procedure that accelerates the healing process, a “humid environment” healing technique. It is an occlusive and non-invasive system, the exudate is evacuated to the outside by the aspiration of negative pressure, avoiding edema and the accumulation of exudate, our purpose is to know the effectiveness of topical negative pressure therapy in the treatment of patients with wounds, given that there is a need to provide answers about the benefits in the healing process of patients' wounds, in their quality of life and in the health system.
