Ítem Acceso abierto Risk of mutagenic, teratogenic, carcinogenic alterations and dermal problems due to exposure to cytostatic agents in healthcare workers(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) De La Cruz Romani, Jackeline Viviana; Hinostroza Rivera, Deisy Blanca; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioObjective: To systematize the appropriate evidence regarding the risks of mutagenic, teratogenic, carcinogenic alterations, and dermal issues due to exposure to cytostatic agents in healthcare personnel. Methodology: This is a Systematic Review that synthesizes the results of various primary research studies. Relevant studies were verified to address the research question. The search was conditioned to articles with full text, and the selected articles underwent a critical reading analysis, using the GRADE system to determine the strength of the recommendations. Results: From the available evidence, 90% (n=9/10) indicate that carcinogenic agents pose a health risk to personnel, leading to problems primarily characterized by teratogenicity, mutagenicity, and carcinogenicity. Conclusion: Cytostatic agents have been shown to possess toxic effects such as teratogenicity, mutagenicity, and carcinogenicity in exposed workers.
