Ítem Acceso abierto Changes in exercise tolerance, after a program of training in post-Covid patients from the Respirando2 Center - 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-12) Muñoz Peralta, Dalma; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioPost-COVID patients often experience persistent symptoms such as dyspnea, persistent cough, and fatigue, leading to decreased exercise tolerance and affecting their daily activities. Training programs are aimed at patients with chronic respiratory diseases to reduce symptoms, increase exercise tolerance, and improve their quality of life.Ítem Acceso abierto Exercise tolerance and dyspnea in patients with pulmonary fibrosis at the primary care center ii of la oroya-2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-23) Ayala Santos, Karen; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaPulmonary fibrosis is a chronic interstitial disease that causes damage to lung tissue, leading to inflammation and scarring around the air sacs. The fibers, which are initially more elastic, become less flexible, reducing the spaces where gas exchange previously occurred. This scarring makes it more difficult to distribute oxygen throughout the body. The disease is characterized by a progressive reduction in respiratory function, causing exercise intolerance, dyspnea, sedentary behavior, and deteriorating quality of life. One way to measure exercise tolerance in relation to dyspnea in pulmonary fibrosis patients is through the 6-minute walk test (6MWT). To quantify dyspnea, the mMRC scale is used to measure the patient’s aerobic capacity.Ítem Acceso abierto Exercise tolerance and its relationship with quality of life in healthy adults from 20 to 60 years of age in one of the Dirandro PNP units, March - April, Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-24) Arteaga Porras, Kimberley Solange; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioA national study conducted in Peru (2005) found that 40% of Peruvians engage in little physical activity due to work commitments. Exercise tolerance is affected by quality of life. Objective: To determine the relationship between exercise tolerance and quality of life in healthy adults aged 20-60 years in one of the DIRANDRO PNP units, March-April Lima 2022. Materials and Methods: The population consisted of 200 healthy adults of both sexes, aged 20-60 years, with a sample of 164 healthy adults. It was an applied study with a correlational, prospective, and cross-sectional design and a quantitative approach. Two instruments were used: the 1-minute Step Test (STST) to measure exercise tolerance and the SF-36 questionnaire to assess quality of life. Results: The mean and standard deviation for exercise tolerance was 33.01 ± 8.574, and for quality of life, 79.20 ± 10.206. The correlation between exercise tolerance and quality of life was (0.000), less than 0.05, so the null hypothesis was rejected. Conclusions: A relationship was found between exercise tolerance and quality of life.Ítem Acceso abierto Exercise tolerance and peripheral muscle strength in older adults from the San Antonio Alto Pichanaki town center,Chanchamayo 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-03) Vega Rafael, Michael Ivan; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaExercise tolerance is defined as the body's ability to cope with physical exercise that involves certain muscle groups without excessive fatigue. On the other hand, peripheral muscle strength is crucial for measuring and evaluating upper limb integrity, which relates to daily life activities in older adults.Ítem Acceso abierto Exercise tolerance and quality of life of older adults at the Santa Luzmila II Maternal And Children Center, Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-10-25) Samanez Pérez, Gustavo Adolfo; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaPhysical inactivity caused by the confinement in our country led to a decrease in exercise tolerance across all age groups in our reality. The purpose of this work is to determine the relationship between exercise tolerance and quality of life in elderly adults at the Santa Luzmila II health center.Ítem Acceso abierto Mental health and exercise tolerance in post covid-19 patients of the Center Municipal Doctor of Cajabamba, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-17) David Obispo, Rosa María; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioThe COVID-19 pandemic, declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020, affected millions, many of whom passed away. While the death rate has decreased significantly, physical and psychological sequelae continue to persist, related to the severity of the disease. Physical sequelae include decreased exercise tolerance, while mental health sequelae include post-COVID anxiety and depression. This study investigates "Mental Health and Exercise Tolerance in Post-COVID-19 Patients at the Municipal Medical Center of Cajabamba, 2022." The research method will be hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative, applied, non-experimental approach. The mental health variable will measure anxiety and depression using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and exercise tolerance will be measured with the six-minute walk test (PC6M), both instruments being valid and reliable.Ítem Acceso abierto Peak expiratory flow and exercise tolerance in post Covid patients in a Hospital in Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-27) Verastegui Ojeda, Irene Renee; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaThis project aims to determine the correlation between peak expiratory flow and the distance covered in post-COVID-19 patients at a hospital in Lima, 2022. The study proposes an observational, correlational design to quickly and safely establish the relationship between the peak expiratory flow variable and quality of life. The measurement instruments to be used, the 6-Minute Walk Test and the peak flow meter, are internationally and nationally validated, ensuring an evaluation with excellent reliability parameters and ease of use. The study population will consist of 90 post-COVID-19 patients from a hospital in Lima. The ability to perform expiratory effort is a way to assess how strongly a patient can blow or cough, an important value, especially after significant weight loss following prolonged hospitalization, as is common in post-COVID patients. The peak expiratory flow will be measured using a peak flow meter, and physical capacity can be evaluated by calculating the distance covered using the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT).Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between exercise tolerance and sleep quality in overweight parents of an educational institution in San Juan De Lurigancho 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-27) Saldaña Villegas, Claudia Andrea de los Angeles; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaExercise tolerance and sleep quality are currently the greatest problems affecting the population, as sleeping less than recommended directly impacts the body and can cause physical and mental disorders such as stress or anxiety. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between exercise tolerance and sleep quality in overweight parents at an educational institution in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2023. The research method will be hypothetical-deductive with a quantitative approach, presenting a correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population will consist of 100 parents from an educational institution. Data collection will use a questionnaire, considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. Exercise tolerance will be measured using the 6-minute walk test, and sleep quality will be measured with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).
