Material and Methods: Systematic observational and retrospective review, subjected to critical reading and using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence of the articles published in the following databases: Epistemonikos, Scielo, Sciencedirect, Researchgate, PubMed. Results: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analysis, 20% (n= 2/10) are a systematic review, 70% (n= 7/10) are studies of cohort and come from the countries of the United States (50%), followed by Japan (20%), Germany (10%), England (10%) and Korea (10%). 100% (n=10/10) indicate that helicopter emergency medical services are more effective than ground emergency services in reducing mortality in patients with severe trauma. Conclusion: Helicopter emergency medical services are more effective than ground emergency services in reducing mortality in patients with severe trauma.
