Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions to improve social skills in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-06) Calderón Ganoza, Rosa Patricia; Basurco Rojas, María Petronila; Rivera Lozada De Bonilla, OrianaObjective: Systematize the evidence of the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions for the management of social skills of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Material and Method: The study is a systematic review, the search has been restricted to full-text articles and the selected articles were subjected to a critical evaluation, using the GRADE method to review their level of evidence. Results: 10 articles were selected, 50% (5/10) correspond to Systematic Review 10% (1/10), Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial 10% (1/10), Quasi-Experimental 10% (1/10), Study Pre Experimental 10% (1/10), Controlled Clinical Trial 10% (1/10) and Experimental 10% (1/10). Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 80% (8/10) of them conclude that there is notable effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions for improving social skills in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. These interventions help reduce stress, hyperactivity, anxiety, depression and improve emotional control. Psychological and psychopedagogical treatment improves behavior and social skills.
