Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between ferritin and c-reactive protein in children with iron deficiency anemia at the Manchay health center, 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-25) Collantes Rabanal, Delia Bernardita; Suca Cueto, César Eusebio; Borja Velezmoro, Gustavo AdolfoThis research aimed to determine the relationship between ferritin and C-reactive protein in children with iron deficiency anemia, using a deductive-quantitative methodology of a non-experimental type, with observation and documentary analysis techniques. The study was based on 409 results and used Spearman's rho test to determine the relationship between ferritin and C-reactive protein, finding a high positive and statistically significant correlation between both. The male sex (52.8%) had a higher prevalence, and the most affected ages were 2 years (39.1%) and 4 years (33.7%) in females. Both sexes predominantly had mild anemia (74.8%). The study concluded that there is a relationship between ferritin and C-reactive protein, with sex, age, and anemia level not affecting the relationship, making these ideal indicators for the specific diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia.
