Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and compliance with nursing care in polytraumatized patients in a Lima Clinic, 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-04-24) Segovia Ruiz, Jessica Alexandra; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoThe increase in polytrauma cases is alarming worldwide, and Peru is not immune to this problem. In 2009, the Andean Community countries reported nearly 12,000 deaths and 116,000 injuries, with one of the leading causes of polytrauma being traffic accidents. Polytrauma is considered one of the leading causes of death, ranking third globally. In response to this issue, healthcare professionals, including nurses, face the significant challenge of being well-prepared, both in terms of knowledge and in the proper management of patients from the first contact in the emergency department. This will allow for timely assessment and quicker response to maximize patient survival chances. Objective: To determine how knowledge relates to the level of compliance with nursing care in polytraumatized patients at a clinic in Lima. Methods: The study will be observational, descriptive, relational, and cross-sectional. The population and sample will be intentional and consist of 20 nursing professionals from a clinic in Lima, meeting the inclusion criteria. A survey on the level of knowledge and an observation guide on nursing care will be used.
