Method: cross-sectional descriptive, the sample was 67 nursing professionals from the Intensive Care Unit - ICU service, a checklist was constructed which was validated by expert judgment and a pilot test for the reliability of the instrument. Results: it can be seen that 70.1% of the nursing professionals are male; 53.7% are between 31 and 40 years old; 34.3% have 8 to 12 years of service; 77.6% have 1 to 3 years working in the service. With reference to non-compliance in the registration of adverse events in nursing professionals of the intensive care unit of the Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom Hospital, 2019 it was found that 86.6% do not comply with the registration of adverse events and only 13.4% comply; In an analysis of the dimension concerning the personal factor, it was found that 67.2% do not comply with the registration of adverse events and only 32.8% comply; while, in the dimension linked to the institutional factor, it was found that 98.5% do not comply and 1.5% do comply. Conclusions: It was determined that the predominant factor associated with non-compliance with the registration of adverse events in nursing professionals at the Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thompson Hospital is the institutional one, since there is no monthly report of adverse events and there is no system. recording and monitoring of these events.
