(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-05-19) Quispe Inga, Dennys; Najarro Nuñez, Alex Nelson; Uturunco Vera, Milagros Lizbeth
Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of closed versus open circuit aspiration of secretions in the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilators in patients treated in the ICU. Material and Methods: International articles are systematically reviewed by searching the Pubmed, Elsevier and Science Direct databases, which are analyzed through the grade system, using DECS and MESH descriptors. When evaluating the articles, the result was that 100% (10/10) of the articles correspond to Brazil, England, Japan, the United States, China, India, Egypt, Korea, Switzerland and Iran respectively. Results: 90% (09/10) of the evidence indicates that the effectiveness is similar between open and closed endotracheal suction systems in the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia in patients hospitalized in the ICU, and 10% (01/ 10) indicate that the closed circuit is more effective than the open one. Conclusions: It is found that 09 of the 10 evidence conclude that the effectiveness is similar between open and closed endotracheal suction systems in the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia in patients hospitalized in the ICU, and 01 of 10 indicate that the closed circuit is more effective than open. Furthermore, both treated systems did not show desaturation.

Effectiveness of the interventions of the humanized care of the nurse in the intensive care unit
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-12-07) Quispe Díaz, Gladys Marleny; Rebatta Trillo, Lourdes Elizabeth; Uturunco Vera, Milagros Lizbeth
Materials and methods: The design is a systematic-integrative review, qualitative-descriptive, cross-sectional, and descriptive project; based on full-text articles identified with quality according to the GRADE system. The population consisted of 10 articles from the following databases: PubMed, Medline, Index, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. These articles come from the following countries: Spain 30% (3/10), Chile 20% (2/10), Colombia 20% (2/10), Thailand 10% (1/10), Canada 10% (1/10), and Mexico 10% (1/10). The studies reviewed included integrative review design (1/10), systematic review 60% (6/10), qualitative studies (2/10), and descriptive project 10% (1/10). Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% showed evidence of the effectiveness of various human care practices in patients in intensive care units. The conclusion drawn from all the articles is that they highlighted integral care, empathetic communication, quality through holistic models, individualized, supportive, and generous interactions with active listening and leadership. It was observed that when family members take active roles alongside nursing staff, their needs and interests are defended within the family visiting regimen. The articles also emphasized the differences between humanizing and dehumanizing care from the perspective of social aspects and technology, which can challenge nurses in balancing technical-scientific quality with emotional quality in their practice.

Family needs of patients admitted to an intensive care unit of a public hospital Covid-19, Lima-2020.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-20) Cuadros Molina, Aquilina Cristina; Palomino Taquire, Rewards
Family members of ICU patients face a stressful environment at a time when they are often least prepared. Family support is very important, and even more so during the pandemic, public safety requires restricting the physical presence of families of hospitalized patients AND they must quickly adapt family-centered procedures and tools to circumvent restrictions on physical presence. Likewise, physical or social distancing in the world is the main mitigation strategy used to reduce transmission in the COVID-19 pandemic. Family members of critically ill patients have important needs in this period of crisis AND it is important to recognize these needs and evaluate how they are met, the total care of the patient that will involve the family. Family members are those who suffer from psychological crises, stress and depression as a consequence of their family members being admitted to this unit, which is usually an unforeseen event and intended for people in critical clinical condition with the potential for high mortality.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-27) Pumarica Pelaez, Fiorella Carolina; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette Giselle
Intensive care units (ICUs) were not simply designed to treat the most critically ill patients, but those for whom survival was possible, though not certain. During their stay in the ICU, patients experience a variety of physical and psychological stressors, which can lead to psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Objective: To determine the relationship between the quality of nursing care and the level of satisfaction of the relatives of critically ill ICU patients at a hospital in northern Lima, 2022. Material and method: The approach will be quantitative, with a non-experimental, descriptive correlational design and a cross-sectional cut. The population will consist of 50 relatives of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit. To measure the quality of nursing care, a questionnaire developed by Viviano, with appropriate validity (p=0.0212) and reliability (0.875, measured by Cronbach's alpha), will be used. The same applies to satisfaction, with a validity of 0.975 and reliability of 0.98. The instruments will be administered in person, after obtaining informed consent.

Risk factors associated with mortality in the intermediate care unit of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital 2019-2020
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-08-10) Talledo Chavez, Estuardo Alonso; Herrera Miranda, Oscar Enrique
This research aimed to determine the risk factors associated with mortality in patients in the intermediate care unit of the National Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, 2019-2020; and to determine the mortality rate and the percentage of compliance with the FAST-HUG protocol in these patients from June 2019 to June 2020. An observational analytical cross-sectional study method was used. Patients admitted to the intermediate emergency care unit were studied, evaluating sociodemographic and clinical variables. Descriptive and inferential statistics were generated to assess the association between sociodemographic and clinical variables with patient mortality. The results showed a mortality rate of 20.5%. FAST-HUG protocol compliance was 58.9%. The factors associated with mortality in the ICU were moderate thrombocytopenia and severe anemia. Conclusion: Mortality remains high, representing one-fifth of the population admitted to the ICU, and the factors associated with higher mortality include hematological dysregulations such as severe anemia and moderate thrombocytopenia.

Severity of the disease of the patients and workload of the nursing staff in the intensive care unit in the high complexity hospital - 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-31) Casanova Chamache, Rocio Jackelyne; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette Giselle
Objective: To determine the relationship that exists between the severity of the patients' illness with the workload of the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit in a High Complexity Hospital -2021. Methods: The study is hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative approach, of a basic research type, of a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional design. The validated instruments will be applied: the APACHE II Scale and the Therapeutic Intervention Rating System (TISS-28), to 30 nurses who work in the Intensive Care Unit in the High Complexity Hospital. Conclusions: In this research project, it will contribute to the knowledge about the relationship between the severity of the patient's illness and the workload that exists in nurses in the intensive care unit, since it has been little investigated at the national level. The results of the study will help develop better strategies for the organization and distribution of nursing staff, thereby ensuring that patients receive complete, humanized, quality care and reducing the workload of nursing staff, always taking into account the attitudes and actions of the nurse.
