    Plantas medicinales para infecciones del tracto urinario utilizados por los usuarios del mercado de Ciudad de Dios - San Juan de Miraflores, 2024

    Introduction: Medicinal plants produce "active ingredients" with pharmacological effects on living organisms. They have been used as natural remedies since ancient times to treat various diseases. Objective: To inform the people in charge of the sales of medicinal plants about their correct use and their therapeutic action to treat urinary tract infections. Methodology: It was based on surveys directed at users of the City of God market, it has a non-experimental design, a deductive method, a quantitative approach, the basic type, its section is transversal and descriptive level. Main results: The main findings showed that Dandelion, Matic, Nettle and Manayupa were the most used plants to treat urinary tract infections. In severe cases of cystitis, Matic and Nettle stood out, while Dandelion was preferred for urethritis. For prostatitis, Nettle, horsetail and Matic were mainly used. Furthermore, it was found that the root was the organ most used to treat severe cases of cystitis, followed by the stem, and both the leaves and the root were used in similar proportions to treat urethritis. Conclusion: The importance and preference of certain medicinal plants and their specific organs in the treatment of various urinary tract infections is highlighted. These findings could be useful in guiding future health research related to traditional and complementary medicine.
