In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, with 80% (8) from the United States and 20% (2) from studies conducted in England and Australia. Of the total articles reviewed, 20% (2) were systematic reviews, 20% (2) were randomized controlled trials (RCT), 50% (5) were cohort studies, and 10% (1) were case-control studies. Results: 100% of the articles reviewed (n=10/10) demonstrated the effectiveness of the pneumococcal vaccine in reducing otitis media. Conclusions: The implementation of the pneumococcal vaccine has been progressive in different regions, and the studies conducted are of varied methodologies, which prevents drawing a general conclusion.
