Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the use of supraglottic devices in airway management in prehospital care(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Bautista Gardiol, Marilu Isidora; Flores Reyna, Jorge Luis; Pérez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjective: Analyze and review the evidence about the effectiveness of the use of supraglottic devices for airway management in prehospital care Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations; It is an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to its rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice. In the search, articles with full text were restricted, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. using the grade system to assign the strength of recommendation, with a total of 10 articles. Results: According to the results obtained in the systematic review, they show that, of the total of 10 articles reviewed, 100% (n=10/10) show the effectiveness of supraglottic devices for airway management in prehospital care; In addition, there is a preference for the iGel 40% laryngeal mask (n=4/10) without neglecting the efficiency of the other devices. Conclusions: When faced with a difficult airway in the prehospital setting, supraglottic devices should be the devices of first choice; They are effective and their insertion takes no more than 30 seconds, producing adequate ventilation without complications.
