Effectiveness of Video Surveillance in Firearm Crimes in High-Profile Cases in Metropolitan Lima, 2021

The advance of technology in the face of criminal violence led to the development of this investigation with the objective of establishing the relationship between video surveillance and firearm crimes in a context where the exposure of the cases investigated in the media includes and requires actions from the various actors who are immersed in a changing and growing situation of the metropolis, thus developing a study with a qualitative approach whose two categories are subjected to a correlational and phenomenological investigative procedure based on interviews carried out with a group of ten specialists, whose responses on the domains derived from each category from the guiding questions have been coded with the Atlas.ti 23 program under the guidance of its hermeneutical method, to measure the effectiveness of video surveillance in firearm crimes, which allowed us to obtain, among other results, that the way of processing video samples must be improved from a regulation that contemplates the entire process from the private and public quality parameters, its way of extraction and its storage, with a sectorized interconnection according to the various areas of Metropolitan Lima through a unique database that can have the capacity to cross-reference information from various institutions in order to generate faster preventive responses, which can considerably improve the effectiveness of video surveillance systems in prevention of firearm crimes.

Observance of the procedure for taking samples for analysis of remains of firearm shots, Ancash - 2021

The main objective of the investigation is to determine if the experts adequately apply the current procedure in the collection of samples for the detection of residues of firearm shots in Ancash 2021. Regarding the methodology, the study is quantitative, not experimental, descriptive, analytical, inductive, concrete. Likewise, the sample consisted of 20 experts from the Chimbote Criminalistics Office and 15 from the Huaraz Criminalistics Office, making a total of 35 Experts. 34 dichotomous questions and to be able to answer the objectives and hypotheses, the analysis was used, Pearson's Chi-square Statistic will be applied. The results showed that the current procedure used by forensic experts for the detection of residues of firearm shots in Ancash 2021, presents deficiencies in the procedure for taking samples in the hands of people, corpses and clothing, as well as on shot debris by using suitable swabs and containers. Concluding, that the current procedure for taking samples for the detection of gunshot residues is not adequately applied in Ancash in the year 2021.

Risk factors that influence the quality of the investigation at the crime scene of the police personnel of the Ayacucho police stations, year 2021

The purpose of the investigation was to determine the risk factors that influence the quality of the crime scene investigation of the police personnel of the Ayacucho Police Stations. It was carried out under the quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design; the survey was used, which for the independent variable a value of 0.892 was found and for the dependent variable 0.961 was obtained, showing that there is a very high level of reliability for the results found, which observe that the human factor if significantly influences the quality of crime scene investigation (p-value= 0.001 < 0.05, CCRS= 0.367), technological factor (p-value= 0.008 < 0.05, CCRS= 0.295), environmental factor (p-value= 0.025 < 0.05, CCRS= 0.251) if they significantly influence the quality of crime scene investigation. It concludes that the risk factors do significantly influence the quality of the crime scene investigation (p-value= 0.000 < 0.05) and with a CCRS= 0.534, it shows that there is a considerable positive influence.

The present research work is framed in a comparative descriptive investigation; with a quantitative approach; the hypothetical-deductive method was applied. The main objective is: to determine the difference between the techniques of swabbing, washing hands together and washing hands separately for the recovery of gunshot residues. To do this, samples of gunshot residues made in shooting practice by people in training are analyzed. With the present investigation we want to determine if there is a significant difference between the techniques of swabbing, washing hands together and washing hands separately for the recovery of gunshot residues, for which samples have been taken in people in training in the city of Arequipa. during the fourth quarter of 2021. The research design was non-experimental, descriptive, since the phenomenon was observed and the information recorded for later analysis. variables were not deliberately manipulated; The study was cross-sectional, since data collection occurred at a certain time.
