Ítem Acceso abierto Level of work stress of the teachers of the professional academic school of dentistry of the private university Norbert Wiener who teach virtual classes as a new teaching modality in times of the Covid 19 pandemic. 2020 II period.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-21) Cáceres Chiroque, Milagros Eliana; Vilchez Bellido, DinaWork-related stress is a significant issue that primarily affects teachers, who are more vulnerable and have seen an increase in stress due to job demands associated with modern life and the current COVID-19 health crisis affecting the country and the world. The WHO and the ILO consider the work environment to play an important role as a stress trigger. It is estimated that one in every three workers experiences job stress, with an international prevalence of 21% and a range in Latin America from 12.5% to 43.82%. This research aimed to determine the level of work stress among 59 faculty members of the Professional School of Dentistry at the Wiener University, who taught online during the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020-II period. The level of work stress was determined in relation to age, gender, presence of children, marital status, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment. This study was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective design; the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used as the instrument. It was found that 5.3% of the teachers experienced moderate work stress, and 94.7% had a low level of work stress, concluding that the teachers at this institution experience low to moderate work stress.
