Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of tourniquet use in controlling extra-hospital hemorrhages in victims of penetrating injuries(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-11-17) Albornoz Salazar, Michael Diogenes; Quiñones Gutiérrez, Katheryn Vanessa; Matta Solis, Eduardo PercyOBJECTIVE: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the use of the tourniquet in the control of out-of-hospital bleeding in victims of penetrating wounds. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Systematic, observational and retrospective review; use of GRADE evaluation system. Databases: Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. 50% are systematic reviews and 50% are randomized clinical studies. They belong 60% to the United States, 10% France, 10% Germany, 10% Spain and 10% Israel. RESULTS: 100% of the articles reviewed demonstrate that the use of the tourniquet is highly effective in controlling out-of-hospital bleeding in victims of penetrating wounds. CONCLUSIONS: The use of the tourniquet is effective in controlling out-of-hospital bleeding in victims of penetrating wounds; It is also associated with the presence of few or few complications, it manages to save lives, with low risk of morbidity, avoiding death due to severe external bleeding, as well as with potentially serious injuries that survive; being currently more used for first aid, and decreased use of blood products.Ítem Acceso abierto Factors that determine accidents at work in cleaning workers of a national hospital of lima in the years 2013-2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-31) Garay Pareja, Milagros; Palomino Taquire, RewardsObjective: To determine the factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel. Material and Methods: Systematic reviews are a descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional research design that synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions about clinical practice. Results: Factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel, we found that 100% (n = 4/4) of the articles show that the factor related to sharps accidents in health personnel is noncompliance with universal or standard precautions. 75% (n = 3/4) of the factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel are workload, work experience, lack of personal protective equipment and unavailability of resources. 50% (n = 2/4) of the factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel are age, educational level, work time and lack of patient cooperation. Conclusion: The main factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel are: age, educational level, work time and lack of patient cooperation. Factors related to sharps accidents in health personnel are noncompliance with universal precautions and lack of adequate personal protective equipment. Conclusiones: No se encontraron diferencias significativas entre grabado selectivo y el autograbante del adhesivo universal.Ítem Acceso abierto Microscopic characterization of garment textile openings in the investigation of crimes against life, body and health(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-09) Pastor Matías, Hannz Alexis; Verástegui Ramírez, Ibeth María; Ascarza Gallegos, Justo AngeloThe objective of the study was to characterize holes found in textile openings using optical microscopy. The fabric type was considered. These fabrics were perforated according to the type of damage that could be inflicted on the textile (cut, tear, and burn). The created hole was placed on a slide with a fixative. Observations were made using 40x and 100x objectives. The characteristics of each sample were recorded in a validated instrument for documentation purposes. It was determined that for cuts, a serrated fiber finish was obtained in animal, vegetable, and synthetic fabrics, with a prevalence of 87%, 93%, and 93%, respectively, at 40x magnification; and 100% for all at 100x magnification. For tearing, the prevalence of an irregular finish was observed for animal, vegetable, and synthetic fibers at 80%, 87%, and 93%, respectively, at 40x magnification; and 100% for all at 100x. For burning, a fused finish was prevalent for all fabrics at both magnifications, with 100% at 40x and 100x. The conclusion is that microscopic characteristics help identify the mechanism that caused the damage to the fabric.Ítem Acceso abierto Performance of health personnel in victims of penetrating firearm wounds to prevent life-threatening complications(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-12-01) Camac Toribio, Jennyfer Kathleen; Vargas Donayre, Carmen Judith; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaOBJECTIVE: To systematize the evidence regarding the role of healthcare personnel in victims of penetrating gunshot wounds to prevent potentially fatal complications. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This is a systematic review of 10 scientific articles on the role of healthcare personnel in victims of penetrating gunshot wounds to prevent potentially fatal complications. The articles were obtained from the following databases: Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs, and were analyzed according to the GRADE scale to determine the strength and quality of the evidence. Of the 10 articles, 70% correspond to randomized clinical trials, and 30% to systematic review methodology. The countries of origin are the United States (20%), Egypt (10%), Turkey (10%), Brazil (20%), England (10%), Colombia (10%), Germany (10%), and Mexico (10%). RESULTS: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% (10/10) demonstrate that the actions of healthcare personnel in victims of penetrating gunshot wounds are effective in preventing potentially fatal complications. CONCLUSIONS: All 10 of the articles provide evidence that the actions of healthcare personnel in victims of penetrating gunshot wounds are effective in preventing potentially fatal complications. This highlights the importance of healthcare intervention, with different methods of care for various types of injuries in victims with such trauma, which helps initiate proper control of tissue damage and injuries, as well as preventing possible fatal complications.
