However, the number of healthy life years in this age group is decreasing. After age 60, a significant number of older adults have non-communicable chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, decreased aerobic capacity, loss of flexibility, reduced muscle strength, and even sarcopenia. Physical exercise is the only tool capable of counteracting the effects or onset of these conditions. However, the reality is that little to no physical exercise is performed. Yoga, through slow, mindful movements and breathing techniques, provides an opportunity to work on both physical and mental health. As a therapeutic form of exercise, it can improve the aerobic or cardiorespiratory capacity of older adults. This study aims to assess changes in aerobic capacity after a yoga intervention using the 6-minute walk test as a tool.Publicación Acceso abierto REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA DE ENSAYOS CLÍNICOS ALEATORIZADOS DE LA EFECTIVIDAD DEL EJERCICIO AERÓBICO, TAI CHI, RELAJACIÓN MUSCULAR Y YOGA EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE ESQUIZOFRENIA CRÓNICA(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-03) Cruz Baldeón, Silvia; Benites Azabache, Juan CarlosObjetivo: Determinar la efectividad del ejercicio aeróbico, Tai chi, relajación muscular y yoga en el tratamiento de esquizofrenia crónica Material y Método: Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en las bases de datos de PubMed, EBSCOhost, SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online).
