Methodology: The study was quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional, with a sample of 185 purchasers selected through probability convenience sampling. A questionnaire validated by five experts with a Master's degree was used, consisting of 35 items that assessed sociocultural aspects, pharmaceutical marketing, multi-pathological conditions, and knowledge about NSAIDs. Data were analyzed in EPI INFO 7.2.6.0 using descriptive and inferential statistics, and information was processed using Cronbach's alpha. Results: A statistically significant relationship was found between knowledge level and age (≥40 years, p=0.0416), educational level (secondary or higher, p=0.0004), and income (≥1500, p=0.0473). In contrast, no significant relationship was found with sex (p=0.11), marital status (p=0.83), employment status (p=0.20), type of insurance (p=0.59), exposure to pharmaceutical marketing (p=0.30), or multiple pathologies (p=0.21). Conclusion: 81.62% of respondents had a low level of knowledge about the adverse effects of NSAIDs. The influence of sociocultural factors such as age, education, and income were confirmed, while pharmaceutical marketing and multiple pathologies did not show a significant relationship.
