Publicación Acceso abierto Relación de la salud bucal con el bienestar y calidad de vida en jóvenes en el distrito de Andahuaylas - 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-10-15) Alegría Córdova, Sandra Evelin; Jaimes Velásquez, Carlos AlbertoObjective: Determine the relationship between oral health and well-being and quality of life in young people in the district of Andahuaylas in the year 2024. Materials and Methods: The study had a quantitative approach, descriptive design and cross section, the sample of 255 young people from the Villa Salinas residential population center in the district of Andahuaylas, applying the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-16) questionnaire which measures well-being and quality of life with 16 items, and the Health Index. Simplified oral hygiene IHO-S. Sperman's Rho test was used for statistical analysis. Results: According to the response alternative “always”, which gives greater value, since the discomfort reported by the study participants remains constant, young people have problems with food stuck between their teeth (38.43%), problems when eating things hard (12.94%), they feel ashamed of their teeth (7.84%), their teeth are a reason to avoid laughing (3.53%), they indicate a negative trend in well-being and quality of life. The results of the correlations of: well-being and quality of life, oral symptoms, functional limitation, emotional well-being and social well-being, showed a p value of 0.000, with values of r = 0.672, r = 0.662, r = 0.818, r = 0.754 and r = 0.802, respectively, indicating that the relationship between the variables is direct and significant. Conclusion: It is evident that oral health difficulties negatively affect the lives of students, with oral symptoms being more prevalent.
